Powerful Shots challenge
Powerful Photos leave a lasting impression on those who
view them. Photos have the ability to transform scenes from
faraway places into intimate, emotional moments we can
connect to on a human level. In this challenge we set our sights
on gathering the best photos which meet that description
and the GuruShots community has risen to the occasion.
8,917 Members have submitted 34,122 photos, the GuruShots
community casted over 14.3 Million votes that helped curate
the final list of 100 photos that are published in this book.

Powerful photos could mean different things to different people.
We felt that a powerful photo should offer up something
special. It shouldn't be just another pretty picture. It should
demonstrate ingenuity on the part of the photographershowing
that she or he managed to capture the significance
of an event or create significance to an event by capturing it.
The 100 photos that were selected represent the
most powerful shots this challenge produced.
