CARE FOR YOUR WINDOW GRAPHICS
Congratulations on the purchase of your Window
Graphics!
While window graphics with overlaminate are very durable, you do
have to properly care for them to ensure they last. Depending on
the vinyl used, most decals will last 5 to 7 years if they are cared for
properly. Removable or short-term vinyl is not intended to last as
long.
IF INSTALLING THE WINDOW GRAPHICS YOURSELF, IT IS
IMPORTANT TO FOLLOW THESE SIMPLE TIPS:-
Apply the window graphics to clean, dirt-free windows. If you apply
them onto dust or dirt, it can cause the graphic to “fail” and not
stick as well as it could. Do not use Windex or equivalent as this
leaves a residue on the window that can impact the adhesion.
Avoid handling the sticky side of the graphics before applying them
to your windows.
FOLLOW THE TIPS BELOW TO MAKE SURE THAT YOU EXTEND THE
LIFE OF YOUR WINDOW GRAPHICS:-
Wait at least one week before washing your windows. This allows
the graphics adhesive to properly adhere to the glass.
Do not scrub hard on the graphics or vinyl cut lettering as this may
weaken the adhesive or damage the digital print on the graphics.
If anything (dirt, bird droppings, etc.) gets on the window graphics,
clean it off immediately to prevent it from staining. If you need to,
gently wipe with a soft cloth and soap and water.
Avoid pressure washing your window graphics as the pressure can
cause the edges to start to lift and damage the prints.
Try to avoid using window cleaning solutions with ammonia, as the
ammonia can reduce the life of your window graphics. If you have
the windows professionally cleaned, please let them know.
Do not use harsh chemicals to clean the windows, and avoid using
wire scrubbers or rough sponges to prevent scratching or peeling
the edges of the vinyl.
Never use solvents, kitchen and bathroom cleaners, oven cleaners,
engine degreasers, or other oil-based cleaners on your window
graphics.
SPECIAL TIPS FOR WINDOW GRAPHICS ON CAR WINDOWS
If your Window Graphic is on the back window of your car, do not
use the back-window wiper as the blade can drag and destroy the
graphics. If you can, either remove the fuse or rear wiper blade to
prevent accidentally turning it on.
Do not roll down windows that have graphics on them. The
mechanics of the window and rubber stoppers can stretch, peel,
and break the graphics, and possibly lead to the graphics becoming
caught inside the mechanism.
