WELCOME...

...to the Princes Theatre festive season which is packed with an exciting mix of comedy, music,

dance and finishing off the year with some good old family fun with this year’s pantomime

Beauty and the Beast. As with previous Polka Dot productions such as Peter Pan and last

years’ success Sleeping Beauty, their production of Beauty and the Beast will showcase a

talented team of actors and dancers who will sing and dance bringing this story to life.

Among this seasons’ highlights we are pleased to welcome back Belinda Davids whose

resemblance to Whitney Houston is mesmerising. Her show The Greatest Love of

All – The Whitney Houston Show will certainly leave you wanting more. This

is followed by new show “Faith” – The George Michael Legacy. Wayne

Dilks and the Legacy Band will give you an exceptional performance

celebrating the life and music of George Michael where you will

enjoy classics such as Let’s Go Outside, Faith and Freedom. The

show will also include some Wham favourites such as Club

Tropicana and of course, yes you’ve guessed it, Wake Me Up

Before You Go Go”.

For the comedy fans we have a triple treat this autumn

starting in September with German comedian Henning

Wehn’s “Westphalia is not an option” tour. Then joining

us in November and back by popular demand are two

favourites Jimmy Carr and Jasper Carrott.

I am sure you will not be disappointed with our

Auditions and exams can be daunting, but the

worst part, for most students, is the performance

of the required Shakespeare piece.

This fun workshop will help students get beneath

the surface of iambic pentameter and connect

with the drama and the story. The relaxed and

enjoyable approach to Shakespeare will cover

what you need to know for an audition, as well as

how to use voice, movement and expression, and

increase your confidence to perform and overall

encourage a greater understanding of the not so

scary Shakespeare.

WESTPHALIA IS NOT AN OPTION

Join German Comedy Ambassador Henning Wehn for an

evening of Teutonic jolliness at its best. After his last show

tackled those well-known staples of light entertainment that are

the British obsession with home ownership and the self-serving

nature of most fundraising efforts, this time Henning’s having

an unbiased look at immigration. He also wonders, if, generally

speaking, people are competent. Luckily in his case this

doesn’t matter as either he’s funny or he lives up to a national

stereotype. It’s a win-win situation. Come along. Or else.

Nigel Farage became a founding member of the UK Independence Party (UKIP) in the early

1990s, and its first ever election candidate in 1994.

In time, he built the party up from winning a handful of votes in its early days to coming first

in the European elections of 2014. One year on, he achieved a record four million votes for the

party at the General Election, defying all odds to make UKIP the third-largest political force in the

country.

Described as “the most important British politician of the last decade and the most

successful”, Nigel’s resignation has left a hole in the nation’s political fabric. Through skill, sheer

determination and more than a little chutzpah, he has transformed UKIP into a permanent

fixture of our democracy, achieved his lifetime’s ambition of an independent Britain, and rocked

the political Establishment across an entire continent.

In so doing, Nigel has proven the exception to the the iron rule that “all political lives end in

failure”, something which should come as no surprise for a man who has enjoyed a thoroughly

exceptional career. The history of not just the United Kingdom but of Europe and the world is

changed because of him, and his place within it is etched in stone.
