Maddie, who is a rising fifthgrader at Keene’s Crossing Elementary School, swims for Southwest Aquatics in Winter Garden. She finished the meet with three golds (200 individual medley, 50 backstroke and 100 back); two silvers (200 freestyle and 400 free); and a fourth-place finish (50 free) as well as the High Point Award for the most points for a 10-year-old female at the state championships. All swimmers, parents and coaches were very supportive, and it took a great deal of effort and hard work to pull off this commendable achievement.
