LEHIGH SHRINE CLUB
Roger Reis
Fellow Nobles,
The Lehigh Shrine Club usually meets on the first Wednesday of each month at the Brass Rail Restaurant on Lehigh Street in
Allentown. The Ladies are invited and we enjoy some social time, followed by a good meal. All Nobles are welcome to attend.
May 19 was our Annual Bingo Night with Ladies at the Complex. There were 47 Nobles, Ladies, and guests present,
including our Potentate and his Lady Sarah. Dinner was family style, consisting of fruit cup, salad, sirloin beef tips, roast turkey,
potatoes, vegetables, and an excellent dessert of cherry pie with ice cream. No one left feeling hungry! Then our Noble Secretary
John Stahr served as the Bingo caller for the evening. Everyone won a prize, amidst a lot of laughter and camaraderie. This is
always a fun and exciting evening.
The June meeting was on the 7th, which was our Hawaiian shirt night. First prize, after much deliberation and discussion, was
won by Noble John Funk. We all hope he enjoys the mysterious bottle of Camel’s milk he was awarded. After soup and salad,
cheese steaks and French fries was the nutritious (?) and tasty dinner enjoyed by the 32 Nobles and Ladies present.
Interclub Night is Wednesday, August 16. The event will be at the Masonic Lodge on Rte 100 in Trexlertown. This is our
almost famous “all you can eat” eggs, ham, potatoes, corn on the cob and salad with hot Dutch dressing dinner. Always a good
evening and the chance to see old friends and make new ones.
Please contact our Secretary or any Officer of the Club to register.
It’s not too early to save the date of Wednesday, October 11, for our Annual Golf tournament. Noble Ron Neimeyer always has
a hot buffet lunch plus a bunch of great golf prizes.
Our Annual Ladies Night is scheduled for Saturday, October 28. It will be held at the Northern Valley Reception Center on
Levans Road in Coplay. More information will be given as the date gets closer.
Raffle tickets will soon be available with the cash drawing held at our November 1 meeting. Again, Officers and Club members
will have tickets for sale. More to come on the Raffle in the next Newsletter.
Remember to attend and support your Clubs and Units. Without an active membership, we will cease to exist!
As always, it’s GREAT to be a Shriner!
