9th Annual!
BRITS ON THE LAKE
CLASSIC MOTORING REVIVAL
Powered by
Welcome to our fabulous little all-British Car and Motorcycle Show
in beautiful Downtown Port Perry on the shores of Lake Scugog.
We sincerely hope that you will enjoy the spirit found here as much
as the lovely cars and the people. Along with our wonderful
sponsors, WISP Highspeed Rural Internet, we are overjoyed that
you have come back again in this 9th year of our event!
BRITS ON THE LAKE has become a Port Perry tradition. It is eagerly
anticipated and awaited by British motoring enthusiasts and
owners of the fine vehicles on display here today. We are grateful
for the encouragement and welcoming acceptance of the business
owners who support us through the Port Perry Downtown Business
Improvement Association. We also thank the people of
the community as a whole and the Municipality of
Scugog for its cooperation and for allowing us to take
over their incredibly beautiful main street for a day and
to fill it with cars, motorcycles and several thousands of
visitors.
BRITS on the Lake Classic Motoring Revival goes ahead
rain or shine! We have had both types of weather but,
mostly it has been SUNNY!.
If it does rain, the shop keepers will be more than
happy to shelter you until the sun comes back out.
That is one of the truly wonderful things about our
show. There is always somewhere inviting to explore!
So, you see, our 9th Annual Revival promises to be the
most enjoyable British Car/Bike/Commercials event
that you will ever experience! ENJOY!
Owning British vehicles is all
about preserving the past while
looking bravely into the future,
enjoying the ride and having fun
with other enthusiasts.
Clubs play an important role in
all of this by bringing like-minded
people together to share
knowledge, experiences, fun.
Clubs help owners to fully enjoy
these special cars, bikes and
commercial vehicles.
Your host, BURLWOOD Motorsport Club wishes to recognize and showcase the unique
identities of the supporting British Motor Clubs, their individual members and the values
and fun of club membership. To that end, we will provide two separate awards for clubs:
1) The Nigel Shiftright Award for the club represented by the greatest number of
members entered and in attendance. The 2016 Winner was the Durham East Enders
British Car Club.
2) The Ambassadors Award for the best Club Theme Presentation as judged by a
panel. Clubs may choose their own themes, but the point is to represent the club to the
fans and fellow entrants. 2016 Winner: British Saloon Car Club of Canada - East Enders.
Club members, please talk to your fellow members and get involved! Have some fun and
let the world see your club in action!
Dress Contest
6
At the heart of it, the allure of British motoring involves more than just the fascination
with the physical, the palpable, the nuts and bolts, the tactile vibrating nature of the
machines, cars, bikes and scooters...........it is much more. It is the passion for all
things British.........a passion that becomes a gravitational pull an appetite, inevitably
moving other aspects of British culture into the orbit of the enthusiast.
BRITS ON THE LAKE Classic Motoring Revival recognizes and encourages the
expression of that passion by giving license and encouragement to all attendees
whether car owners or spectators to express their "inner Brit" and the creation of their
own bit of "Street Theatre". We reward the effort through our "Dress Awards Contest".
