What Is <strong>Thaangio</strong> <strong>100</strong> Mg <strong>Capsules</strong> ?<br />
<strong>Thalidomide</strong> is an immunomodulatory agent. It works on<br />
the immune system to decrease certain substances that<br />
cause skin inflammation in patients who have ENL. In<br />
cancer patients, it appears to increase certain natural<br />
substances that help to kill cancer cells.<br />
USE<br />
<strong>Thalidomide</strong> is used for:<br />
Treating or preventing skin inflammation in patients who<br />
have moderate to severe erythema nodosum leprosum<br />
(ENL) (leprosy). It is used with other medicines if the<br />
patient also has moderate to severe nerve inflammation<br />
due to ENL. It is also used with dexamethasone to treat<br />
patients who have a certain type of cancer (multiple<br />
myeloma).

Possible Side Effects of <strong>Thalidomide</strong>:<br />

Precautions<br />

<strong>Thalidomide</strong> may lower the ability of your body to<br />
fight infection. Avoid contact with people who have<br />
colds or infections. Tell your doctor if you notice<br />
signs of infection like fever, sore throat, rash, or<br />
chills.<br />
<strong>Thalidomide</strong> may cause nerve damage. Contact your<br />
doctor right away if you develop symptoms of<br />
numbness, tingling, burning sensation, or pain in the<br />
hands, arms, legs, or feet. The chance of heart attack<br />
or stroke due to blood clots may be raised. Call your<br />
doctor right away if you have signs of heart attack.<br />
PREGNANCY and BREAST-FEEDING: Do not use<br />
thalidomide if you are pregnant. It may cause severe birth<br />
defects or death of the fetus. It is not known if this<br />
medicine is found in breast milk. Do not breast-feed while<br />
taking thalidomide.
