City of Arts and Design
Berlin is not a city but rather a collection of villages that combine to always
create something new. This is why it is best to explore Berlin part by part and
the easiest starting point is in the centre: with a visit to the restored Hackescher
Market where culinary pleasures, alternative art galleries and chic boutiques
combine into a fascinating whole. During this tour you will get a general idea of
the capital’s limitless possibilities.
Day 1: Arrival in Berlin
Arrival in Berlin. Dinner and accommodation at your hotel in Berlin.
Day 2: Berlin
After breakfast enjoy a full day guided tour of Germany’s capital city. Among
many other places, you will see the Brandenburger Tor, the “Reichstags building”,
the “Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church” and the TV Tower. Dinner and
overnight stay at your hotel.
Day 3: Potsdam
In the morning, depart for Potsdam, located on the river Havel and rich in art and
history. After a guided orientation tour of the city, visit Sans Souci palace and
park, one of the most significant complexes in Europe and it belongs to the
UNESCO World Heritage. Return to Berlin. Dinner and overnight stay at your hotel.
Day 4: Departure

a Changing Metropolis
There is no other European city that has experienced such profound changes
during its last 20 years. The metropolis in the heart of Europe continues to be a
magnet for tourists. One constantly discovers something new and happening,
as well as the quiet oases of the countless parks and gardens, beer gardens and
typical pubs and restaurants…
Day 1: Arrival in Berlin
Arrival at your hotel in Berlin. After check-in you will be greeted by your tour guide
who will take you on a guided informational tour “On the Traces of the Berlin
Wall”. You will visit the former border-crossing point Checkpoint Charlie. A
border sign and a controller’s little house are today’s only reminders of the old
border control point. In the Museum at the Checkpoint Charlie you will be introduced
to the history of the Wall. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Berlin – over 20 years since the fall of the Berlin Wall
After a buffet breakfast, your guide will take you on a city tour of a different kind,
where you will get closer acquainted with “The Life of the Others”. The focal
point of the tour is the architecture of the former GDR. Get to know the TV Tower
at Alexanderplatz, the old Stalinallee with its soviet-style apartment blocks and
the East-Side-Gallery, where the longest preserved part of the Wall now stands.
There you will get a first-hand experience of the East and the West. The city tour
will end in the Nikolai District, the so-called cradle of Berlin. At the end of the
tour you will visit the Museum of the GDR. See the everyday items used by the
“Ossis” in an original GDR-style apartment or take a seat in a Trabbi. Many interesting
and unusual objects are exhibited in the museum. In the afternoon you
will have time to explore on your own. Dinner at the hotel and overnight stay.
Day 3: Departure
Today after breakfast you will visit the documentary centre of the Berlin Wall.
It is part of the commemorative ensemble of the Berlin Wall in the Bernauer
Straße. Here you will obtain a comprehensive look of the history of the Berlin
Wall and its consequences. After that you will depart Berlin and transfer to the
airport.
