Southwest Conference of
Mayors Annual Auction
11 a.m. Sept. 30, Orland
Park Public Works Facility,
15655 S. Ravinia Ave.
Automobiles, trucks and
equipment from member
municipalities will be
auctioned by American
Auction Associates of
Addison. A $200 deposit
is required to obtain a bid
paddle. All deposits and
payments must be made
in cash, credit cards or
certified funds. Company
checks will be accepted with
a bank letter guaranteeing
payment. All items are
sold as-is, where-is without
warranty or guarantee. All
assets must be removed
by 4 p.m. Sept. 30. Those
planning to bid should arrive
at least 30 minutes before
the start of the auction to
register. Registration takes
place at the registration
table. A valid ID, business
card and a suitable deposit
will speed up registration.
After registering, bidders
receive a numbered bidder
paddle and an auction
lot catalog, detailing the
items being offered for
sale. Announcements made
the day of the auction
supersede any and all
printed materials. A public
preview is to be held from
9 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday,
Sept. 29, and at 9 a.m. the
morning of the auction.

The Great Pumpkin Party
1-5 p.m. Sept. 30,

The event is to feature Build
a Scarecrow from 1-5 p.m.
Straw, twine and bags (for
the head) will be provided.
Participants should bring
clothes for their scarecrow.
At 1:30 p.m., there is to
be a Pet Costume Parade.
Attendees can dress up and
bring along their favorite
(behaved) pets to parade
around the “pet track.” From
1-5 p.m., search for that
perfect fall pumpkin. All
pumpkins $3 each. Limit of
two pumpkins per family. A
pie eating contest is to take
place at 2 p.m. Age groups
are 8-11, 12-17, and 18 and
older. Prizes to all winners.
Space is limited. Register

Migration Bird Walk

bird walk will be led by
two Orland Grassland

for warblers and ducks
at the newest Audubon
Important Bird Area.
