Mayors Annual Auction<br />

Automobiles, trucks and<br />

equipment from member<br />

municipalities will be<br />

auctioned by American<br />

Auction Associates of<br />

Addison. A $200 deposit<br />

is required to obtain a bid<br />

paddle. All deposits and<br />

payments must be made<br />

in cash, credit cards or<br />

certified funds. Company<br />

checks will be accepted with<br />

a bank letter guaranteeing<br />

payment. All items are<br />

sold as-is, where-is without<br />

warranty or guarantee. All<br />

assets must be removed<br />

by 4 p.m. Sept. 30. Those<br />

planning to bid should arrive<br />

at least 30 minutes before<br />

the start of the auction to<br />

register. Registration takes<br />

place at the registration<br />

table. A valid ID, business<br />

card and a suitable deposit<br />

will speed up registration.<br />

After registering, bidders<br />

receive a numbered bidder<br />

paddle and an auction<br />

lot catalog, detailing the<br />

items being offered for<br />

sale. Announcements made<br />

the day of the auction<br />

supersede any and all<br />

printed materials. A public<br />

preview is to be held from<br />

9 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday,<br />

Sept. 29, and at 9 a.m. the<br />

morning of the auction.<br />

The Great Pumpkin Party<br />

The event is to feature Build<br />

a Scarecrow from 1-5 p.m.<br />

Straw, twine and bags (for<br />

the head) will be provided.<br />

Participants should bring<br />

clothes for their scarecrow.<br />

At 1:30 p.m., there is to<br />

be a Pet Costume Parade.<br />

Attendees can dress up and<br />

bring along their favorite<br />

(behaved) pets to parade<br />

around the “pet track.” From<br />

1-5 p.m., search for that<br />

perfect fall pumpkin. All<br />

pumpkins $3 each. Limit of<br />

two pumpkins per family. A<br />

pie eating contest is to take<br />

place at 2 p.m. Age groups<br />

are 8-11, 12-17, and 18 and<br />

older. Prizes to all winners.<br />
