G9 Vision:
Coloring the world gold so every child, everywhere survives cancer.
G9 Mission Statement:
Increase funding for childhood cancer research and initiatives by
growing awareness that inspires action for every child, everywhere.
A Letter from Sarah Bartosz, G9 President
It is with extraordinary pride that Gold In September (G9) shares this overview
of success and goodwill. The organization effectively raised more than $1.2
Million last year and forged new
partnerships and collaborations
while planting the seeds and
watering the roots of hope for
children battling cancer in positive,
inspiring ways.
G9 is committed to turning
the world gold for every child,
everywhere until cures for
childhood cancer are found.
Regardless of where a child resides,
each of the children fighting cancer
is the collective responsibility of
our world . . . they are all ‘local’
to those who love them and the
dedicated community of doctors
near and far working cooperatively
to save their lives.
Pictured: Sarah Bartosz and Annie Bartosz
Pediatric oncology experts from around the world are eager to acknowledge
progress is achievable and quantum changes are possible for children diagnosed
with cancer. Together, we must now turn awareness into action and possibility
into reality.
Many wonderful organizations are making great strides in the name of
childhood cancer and G9 is not in existence to duplicate those efforts or take
away from the good works of others; G9 is different. G9 is dedicated to building
golden awareness leading to action to help the roots of our collective hope grow
and flourish, just like every child, everywhere deserves the opportunity to
grow and flourish.
By coming together, we can change the
future of childhood cancer. Thank you
for joining G9 and being part of the
great community working together to
G9 Impact
Childhood cancer is an urgent health crisis,
even for those who are surviving.
G9 believes there is hope.
Gold (G) is the national color for childhood
cancer and September (the 9th month) is
recognized as National Childhood Cancer
Awareness Month. Utilizing a noble model
of inspiring the world to GROW GOLD,
the mission of G9 is to increase funding for
childhood cancer research and initiatives by
growing awareness that inspires action.
for every child, everywhere
NATIONWIDE RESEARCH
• Because NCI only allocates approximately 4% of their annual budget towards
pediatric cancer research, G9 recognizes that private funding for global research is
the path to cures.
• The G9 Centers of Excellence, made up of children’s hospitals nationwide qualifying
through objective standards and metrics, are leading the way in offering Early Phase
Trials to kids.
• In partnership with the Children’s Oncology Group’s Project:EveryChild, every type
of childhood cancer, no matter how rare, is studied through coordinated efforts by
over 200 pediatric cancer programs.
STRATEGIC PARTNERS
• In collaboration with national advisors and partners, G9 aims to create unique
opportunities in markets across the country providing awareness and
philanthropic support.
• Fundraising programs activate children’s cancer support within communities
and schools, allowing every child, everywhere to learn social entrepreneurship,
leadership, and philanthropy to be a part of the solution.
• G9 believes that every person, everywhere is a strategic partner in the investment for
the future of our children.
ALTRUISTIC AND INNOVATIVE APPROACH
• G9 supports bringing the newest, most promising treatments and trials to kids faster.
• The objective funding model allows for faster response and implementation.
• An altruistic model of branding and philanthropy unites the childhood
cancer community under an umbrella of gold.
• G9 maximizes the benefit of every dollar across a broad spectrum of leading pediatric
cancer experts and hospitals to impact a larger number of kids.
G9 has become not just a mission, but a united movement of golden hope, inspiring the
world to #growGOLD to change the future of childhood cancer.
“You can’t win the battle against this awful disease with just the people who are trying to
fight it, that’s like trying to win a war with only the wounded.”
– Annie Bartosz, G9 Founder

G9 directly benefits the entire childhood cancer
community with gold alliance. Through global
research, strategic partners, and an altruistic and
innovative approach, G9 is planting seeds of hope
to grow gold.
GROW GOLD shows the world you want to do
something about the future of survival for all kids
diagnosed with cancer.
GROW GOLD builds community support for the
hospitals and families battling cancer in your own
backyard.
GROW GOLD effects greater change by supporting
all childhood cancer efforts across the globe as a
united GOLD initiative.
