Tony Nguyen Tony is being recognized for his great attitude, agility in learning and ability to get things done with quality. He takes initiative to help coworkers and seeks opportunity to improve the mill and himself. He completed five projects in the ideas program for 2017 thus far with more awaiting approval. Tony was instrumental is saving two of three coils during a breakdown, allowing us to sell those coils instead of scraping them. He was instrumental in helping to reduce delays on the compactor from an average of 1,000 mins per cycle to an average of 200 mins per cycle. This is the second time Tony has won and due to his positive attitude and performance results, it is well-deserved. Marcus Mallory Marcus Mallory has been a leader in the Refractory cell over the past year. He is the safety multiplier for the cell and does safety videos for the crew. He leads good discussions before and after the videos involving the team. Additionally, Marcus is learning to be backup for inventory and cycle counts in SAP, leads during Furnace relines, and is very respected by his peers and Facilitators. GOLDER ASSOCIATES INC. Golder Associates Inc. In 2017, Golder’s dry-cleaning remediation team completed remediation at two complex sites where teamwork between Golder and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection was critical to the success of the projects. This team used cutting-edge technology to clean up contaminated sites in a cost-effective manner with minimal inconvenience to property owners and businesses. JOHNSON & JOHNSON VISION CARE, INC. The Jacksonville site houses global headquarters, the research and development facility, a distribution facility, and a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant. Mold Services Readiness Team The demand on the mold services operation increased by over 40 percent due to expanded product offerings and smaller lot sizes. Through fostering a can-do culture, reworking outdated processes and implementing new systems, they have absorbed all additional work. The team had to actively manage dual inventories of tooling, coordinating with Planning and Production to ensure that customer orders were fulfilled. Mark and Eric addressed the resource management of new product protocols and qualifications for expanded business launches by leading the Mold Services Operation Team through increased business complexity. Mobile Mail Room Project Team Mobile mailroom project integrated complete systems and printing access with bulk shipping processes, while improving workplace safety, ergonomics, operational efficiency and quality services. QC Sample Waste Reduction Team The QC Sample Waste Reduction Team was challenged with reducing the number of samples delivered from the 90-Pack production lines from nine cartons to three cartons. The project was designed to reduce the waste of throwing away excess samples. This project will support a cost saving of over $80,000 in contact lens scrap reduction for two production lines.
