Vac-Con was established in 1986 to develop a truck-mounted combination sewer and catch basic cleaning machine to compete in the government and private contractor market segments. The founding philosophy was to provide equipment that was easier to use, easier to maintain and to “… identify and meet the needs of its customers NOW.” Vac-Con machines are built exclusively at its manufacturing facility in Green Cove Springs on 11-plus acres of land and more than 100,000 square feet of floor space, by its 300 owner-employees. Jose Nieves Jose joined the Vac-Con team as an Inventory Clerk five years ago. This year, he played a critical role in updating warehousing operations involving the establishment of new state-ofthe-art vertical lift modules and inventory operating systems following the Vac-Con plant expansion. Additionally, Jose continues to grow professionally by serving on the company’s Safety Committee and corporate Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP) Advisory Committee. Bhavik Patel Bhavik joined the Vac-Con family three years ago, bringing a fresh, new design methodology and fostering a team approach to technical opportunities facing the Vac- Con Engineering Department. A natural leader, Bhavik readily accepted the role as team lead for the design of Vac-Con’s next generation sewer cleaner. This market-unique machine includes enhanced performance and filtration unlike any other in Vac-Con history. Bhavik and the team brought this project to production on time — accurate and complete. Bhavik is a professional with exceptional work ethic who is respected by those from the shop floor to upper-management. WESTROCK – SEMINOLE MILL One of the founding members of FCMA, WestRock is a leading global consumer and corrugated packaging company focused on customers, innovation and operational excellence. Amy Frink With no prior ISO or Quality experience, Amy took on the role of interim Quality Manager to help the mill obtain reregistration under the ISO: 9001:2015 standard, a major revision from the previous standard. Through Amy’s efforts, the mill easily registered under the new standard. David Hatch David took on the difficult task of completing the training manual development for many of the key roles in the Paper Mill when we exhausted the budget for the consultant working on the training development. He coordinated the volunteers, supplying the training information, developed the manuals, and has been instrumental in training new employees to a higher standard. Jennifer Pensa Jennifer handles many accounting functions, including payroll. In 2016, Jennifer assumed additional responsibilities and managed the mill’s United Way campaign. Under her direction, Seminole Mill raised over $27,000 to impact our local community. Jennifer represents WestRock’s values of Integrity, Respect, Accountability, and Excellence. Floyd Wade As a Paper Mill Crew Leader, Floyd ensures that his entire crew understands the plan for each shift, and he regularly works to ensure the safety of the younger, less experienced, crew members. He routinely comes in on off days to cover vacancies and work on special projects. He embodies the WestRock values of Integrity, Respect, Accountability, and Excellence.
