Introduction to polystyrene beehive<br />
Polystyrene beehives become more and more popular.<br />
Low weight and small size in comparison with wooden<br />
beehives make them especially useful in migratory apiaries,<br />
but they also shine in stationary professional and<br />
hobbyist apiaries.<br />
Main factors of their popularity are the ease of decontamination,<br />
durability and high level of aesthetics. The<br />
economy in polystyrene hives is not much different from<br />
that in hives made from other materials.<br />
Available hive standards<br />
We offer the following Polystyrene hive types: Wielkopolski,<br />
Ostrowskiej, Dadant, Apipol, Langstroth (PL),<br />
Warszawski zwykły, Warszawski poszerzany and several<br />
types of beehives used all over the world: Langstroth<br />
(American), European Dadant, Czech (for 39 × 24 cm<br />
frame), Swedish, Norwegian, Hungarian and German:<br />
Deutsch Normal, Zander, Dadant Blatt.<br />
An important element of the use of polystyrene hives<br />
is ventilation. High level of thermal insulation provides<br />
excellent thermal conditions, which result in rapid colony<br />
growth.<br />
All elements including hive bodies, bottom boards and<br />
crown boards are fitted with additional strengthening<br />
inserts which improve their durability as well as the<br />
structural integrity of each element.<br />
All hives are composed of similar elements, which differ<br />
only in size, depending on the dimensions of the used<br />
frames.<br />
