Fear or Face?
You are a Conqueror
OUR ongoing talks on Angels and Demons are indeed
very challenging.
Oppressions have been happening since we began this series
- in our Feasts here at Bay Area and even in other districts, among
our servants and leaders, and even with me personally, including
my family.
Some are saying and asking, “Are we experiencing Spiritual
Warfare? Is the enemy being seriously disturbed to unleash these
things? Have we crossed boundaries into the supernatural?
Or do these things really just happen in the real world?
Whatever the reason, spiritual or natural, the important question
is “How do we respond to it?”
Do we FEAR or FACE?
Do we cower and quit? Do we avoid and compromise? Should
we simply be silenced and just let things happen?
Or are these powerful opportunities to make a stand and
a statement?
In all these we continue to discern and balance things –
rationally and spiritually, so that we are not too quick again to give
too much credit to the enemy for our problems, while not denying
that he may and can do this.
Today, in Talk 3, we shall bravely proclaim and declare with
deep faith and trust in what God has promised His children who
face natural or spiritual OPPRESSION.
“You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them,
because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the
world.” 1 John 4: 4

“THE Avengers fight the physical battles against any threat on
earth while we must recognize that we need to prepare to fight the
spiritual battles that cannot be seen by our ordinary eyes.”
The quote above was from a Marvel’s Movie, Dr. Strange. This
reveals that I’m a Marvel fanatic. Haha!
But let me be frank with you, these spiritual battles are not only
seen in comics or movies. Because it is really happening! Look
beyond what you see around you. This is not to scare you but
to inform you that we need to be more vigilant and prepare for
spiritual battles.
“So stand ready... keep alert and never give up; pray always for all
God’s people.” –Ephesians 6:14, 18
Are you on fight mode or flight mode? When the going gets
tough, are you prepared for the real battle? Are you prepared to
win not only for your spiritual journey but also to win more souls?
Yes, for God?
We all need to suit up and step up to face the enemy.
And here’s the truth, we have a God who has already won
over sin and death. We are fighting from Jesus’ victory. Thus, we
should not be afraid of the enemy. Choose to make the enemy
insignificant. Focus on God’s extravagant love that conquers all!
Together, let us fight with the power of His love.

Words For God’s Glory

MIKA shares how God blessed her
through The Feast and she learn to
use her God-given talent for God’s
glory.
I was first introduced to the Light
of Jesus Family (LOJF) way back in
2004. I became an active member
of the youth group called Youth
Mission for Parishes and Communities
(YMPACT). I also attended prayer
meetings every other Sunday and
Camp Calye every summer. But for
some reason, I stopped in 2007. Even though I continued to
attend Kerygma Conferences in between those years, it was only
in 2014 when I started attending The Feast regularly again.
Because of The Feast I started to truly pray for my dreams and
wrote it in my Novena to God’s Love. Just a few months later,
God answered my prayer! I have always loved writing and I thank
God that I got my dream job as a Communications Professional
at a foreign mission agency based in Manila which is related into
writing! God is amazing!
However, I must admit that my gift of words were both a gift and
a curse. I can use my words to bless others or hurt them – that’s
the angel and demon in me.
But thanks to The Feast, I am now more patient and aware of
how to properly handle this double-edged sword of a gift. As said
in Proverbs 12:18, “The words of the reckless pierce like swords,
but the tongue of the wise brings healing.” So I now make sure
to use my gift of words more as a blessing. I decided to always
glorify the Lord through my words and so I said “yes” to God’s
calling to serve Him through my beloved M3SY Media
Ministry family.
To God be the glory always and forever!

Finally, build up your strength in union with the Lord and by
means of his mighty power. 11 Put on all the armor that God gives
you, so that you will be able to stand up against the Devil’s evil
tricks. 12 For we are not fighting against human beings but against
the wicked spiritual forces in the heavenly world, the rulers, authorities,
and cosmic powers of this dark age. 13 So put on God’s armor
now! Then when the evil day comes, you will be able to resist the
enemy’s attacks; and after fighting to the end, you will still hold your
ground.

So stand ready, with truth as a belt tight around your waist, with
righteousness as your breastplate, 15 and as your shoes the readiness
to announce the Good News of peace. 16 At all times carry faith
as a shield; for with it you will be able to put out all the burning arrows
shot by the Evil One. 17 And accept salvation as a helmet, and
the word of God as the sword which the Spirit gives you. 18 Do all this
in prayer, asking for God’s help. Pray on every occasion, as the Spirit
leads. For this reason, keep alert and never give up; pray always
for all God’s people. 19 And pray also for me, that God will give me a
message when I am ready to speak, so that I may speak boldly and
make known the gospel’s secret. 20 For the sake of this gospel I am
an ambassador, though now I am in prison. Pray that I may be bold
in speaking about the gospel as I should.”

What you believe in comes true. And what you focus on

Superstitions are not powerful until we believe in them and
gives them power. If we will demonize everything in this world,
where can we see God? Otherwise, if we will opt to see God in
everything then there will be no place for the devil anymore.

Are We Being Spiritually Oppressed?
“Bo, we’re being spiritually attacked,” she said, her voice almost trembling
with fear.
“Why do you say that?” I asked my friend who was serving in our Life
in the Spirit Seminar. (That was what we called our initiations seminar
when dinosaurs roamed the earth.)
“Three of our Music Ministry members called up to say they couldn’t
make it today for all sorts of reasons. One got sick. The other had a flat
tire. And our lead singer had a fight with her boyfriend. Bo, we need to
cast out demons…”
Question: Were we really being attacked by evil? In Charismatic Lingo,
we call this Spiritual Oppression. But were we?
I know God will speak to you today.
