The entire journey takes around 8 hours and crosses 291 bridges,

passes through 91 tunnels and climbs over the 2033 m high

Oberalp pass – this is truly one of the world`s most spectacular rail

journeys.

ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival Switzerland

Individual transfer by train to Zermatt. Short

walk to the hotel and check in. Zermatt lies at

the foot of the Matterhorn. The town’s tourist

development is closely linked to what is most

probably the world’s most famous mountain,

Day 7: Montreux – Gstaad (ca. 330 km)

Drive through the orchards and terraced vineyards

of the Lavaux and further to Lausanne,

the second-largest city on Lake Geneva. Make

sure you visit the Olympic Museum. Continue

your drive to Freiburg, the largest medieval

town in Üecht land. Further on your way you

will pass the Greyerzer region, with its rolling

green landscape. Overnight in Gstaad.

Day 8: Gstaad – Lucerne (ca. 315 km)

Before you continue to Lucerne, enjoy the

beautiful scenery of the chalet village Gstaad.

Continue your drive to Interlaken. From Interlaken

you can experience the majestic Eiger,

Mönch and Jungfrau summits. If you have

some time left before you head to Lucerne,

Berne is the place to spend it. The old town

of Berne is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 9: Departure Lucerne – Zurich

You will spend your last day in one of the most

Day 1: Arrival Switzerland

After arrival at Zurich airport, individual transportation

Continue your drive and have a stopover at

“Heidi`s Village” in Maienfeld. The town inspired

the poetess Johanna Spyri to write her

novel Heidi. In the Heidi village, the story of

this cheerful, nature-loving little orphan girl

comes to life at the original locales of the

story. Continue your journey to St. Moritz.

Day 4: St. Moritz – Lugano (ca. 267 km)

On your way to Lugano in the south of Switzerland

you have several possibilities to experience

the Grand Tour attractions. Relax on a

train ride on the most beautiful Alpine train,

the Bernina Express. If you prefer to be active

do the hike on Mount Muottas Muragl near

Pontresina. Continue to Lugano. Overnight in

Day 5: Lugano – Zermatt (ca. 215 km)

Leaving Lugano to Zermatt. On your way and

just a footstep away lies Ascona. The city is

famous for its mild climate, its Old Town and

a lake promenade. Further north and also on

your way you can visit beautiful Bellinzona.

Heading north to cross the famous St. Gotthard

Pass and Furka Pass and continue into

the region Valais. Continue to Täsch, last stop

for your car before you continue by train on

Day 6: Zermatt – Lausanne (ca. 180 km)

Lucerne is the gateway to central Switzerland

highest railway station in Europe at 3454 m.

Enjoy some breath-taking views of the Aletsch

Glacier at 22 km it is the longest glacier in the

Alps and UNESCO World Heritage Site. In

the early evening your journey on the GoldenPass

Line continues. Along the shores of

Lake Thun you will reach the Simmen valley

with Zweisimmen and Gstaad. Your journey

takes you through the wild and romantic Pays

d’Enhaut with the scenic villages of Château

d’Oex and Montbovon, and through a tunnel,

before a panoramic view of Lake Geneva and

Day 4: Montreux – Zermatt

Journey from Montreux to Zermatt. For the

Climbing over the spectacular Bernina pass
