Taxi firm urges caution during Christmas party season
Christmas and New Year partygoers
are being advised to stay safe by
only using official licensed taxis or
private hire vehicles booked through a
licensed operator this festive period.
As the pubs and clubs across the
UK get busier and many firms hold
private Christmas parties, Skyline Taxis
– which operates in Milton Keynes,
Northampton and Flitwick - is warning
people of the dangers of flagging
down bogus cabs.
Gav Sokhi, Managing Director of
Skyline Taxis, said: “At Skyline we
understand the dangers passengers
face, especially women travelling
alone at night, from bogus and
unlicensed drivers.
“We have taken steps to safeguard
passengers. We are offering a
completely free Text-Back service,
which sees us send a free SMS text
message to a customer’s mobile
phone detailing the type, colour
and registration of the car coming to
collect them. Customers feel safe in
the knowledge that they are getting
into the right, fully licensed car.
“In addition to this, our app allows
customers to book their journeys in
advance from their smartphones in
less time than it would take to make a
phone call. It can also be used to track
your taxi so you know where it is.”
