Daily Timetables for children in Nursery and Reception are as follows: Time Nursery Reception 8.30am Nursery Children and parents welcomed. Self-registration time. Snack Session Reception doors open at 8.30am. 9.00am Reception 9.30am Family Time Introductory activities - planning the session in family groups with an adult. Basic Skills work - Literacy and maths focus. Class Based Activities Mathematical development/Literacy focus. 10.00am Wednesday - Free flow activities between the classrooms. Free flow is based around 4 activities which are rich enough in content to encompass learning in Nursery and Reception. Children choose which activity they complete. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday Continued class based activities. 11.00am Home group time Class based time Talking through the morning's experiences/follow up work or alternatively a joint story or activity. 11.30am Nursery session ends Lunch Time 12.15pm 12.30pm start Lunch Break Children and parents welcomed. Self-registration time. Children to choose a class based activity to complete. Settling down and register time. Activities in Reception Classroom. 1.00pm Family Time Whole class/Group work 1.30pm Introductory activities - planning the session in family groups with an adult. Wednesday - Free flow activities between the classrooms. Free flow is based around 4 activities which are rich enough in content to encompass learning in Nursery and Reception. Children choose which activity they complete. Continued class based activities. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 2.30pm Home group time Class based/assembly time 3.15pm Reception Talking through the morning's experiences/follow up work or alternatively a joint story or activity. End of Session 3.30pm End of Session Nursery The Nursery and Reception daily timetable is based around a “free flow” method of working. This means that children are able to plan, carry out and evaluate their own activities, with the help of an adult where needed. The activities are carefully planned, supported and guided by the Early Years team. 11
