The Reverend Anthony R. Hood, D. Min.
First United Methodist Church of Farmington
Senior Pastor
“I Will Trust In the Lord” Page 3
Lord, we live in a time when self-esteem is highly praised, and success is touted as a
worthy goal. When we find it difficult to behave humbly and to take on the role of
servanthood be our strength and redeemer.
Lord, it is easy to say in words that we love. It is more difficult to say it with our
deeds. Receive these gifts as tangible expressions of our love. We pray in
Jesus’ name.
Divine love through me blesses and multiplies all that I have, all that I give,
and all that I receive, in the name of Jesus. Amen
God Bless and Please Come Out and Join Us!
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
11 For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not
for harm, to give you a future with hope. 12 Then when you call upon me and come and
pray to me, I will hear you. 13 When you search for me, you will find me; if you seek me
with all your heart, 14 I will let you find me, says the Lord, and I will restore your fortunes
and gather you from all the nations and all the places where I have driven you, says
the Lord, and I will bring you back to the place from which I sent you into exile.
To God Be the Glory
(African American Heritage Hymnal #157)
To God be the glory, great things He hath done! So loved He the
world that He gave us His Son, Who yielded His life, an atonement
for sin, And opened the lifegate that all may go in.
O perfect redemption, the purchase of blood! To ev’ry believer,
the promise of God; The vilest offender who truly believes,
That moment from Jesus a pardon receives.
Great things He hath taught us, great things He hath done,
And great our rejoicing through Jesus the Son; But purer and higher,
and greater will be Our wonder, our transport, when Jesus we see.
Refrain
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the earth hear His voice!
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the people rejoice!
O come to the Father thru Jesus the Son, and give
Him the glory, great things He hath done!
