We have so much happening as we
approach Christmas, so let’s use the
services and planned events to invite our
family, friends and work colleagues
Just to highlight a few issues:
On December 7th we will be singing
carols around Woodbury Avenue, from
6.30 p.m. and also holding our monthly
Prayer Central at 7.30 p.m. Those out
singing will join those praying and hot
chocolate and stollen will be served at the
end.
In order to accommodate numbers at our
Carols by Candlelight services on
December 17th, we are asking that you
indicate your preference for attendance
at the 5 & 7 p.m. services by registering
online. This is not to book a seat, but to
help us gauge numbers on a very busy
evening.
We have one service on December 24th at
10.30 a.m. and it would be great if tots,
children (and adults), come dressed as
angels, shepherds, wisemen and manger
animals, so that we can have a simple
presentation of the nativity at the start of
the service. Please join in whatever your
age, as it will be an amazing opportunity
to be part of this great story.
Children are invited to bring one of their
presents to show us all on Christmas Day
at 10.30 a.m. and do note the additional
service at 9 a.m. for those who may like
a quieter and more reflective start!
Christmas provides us with so many
opportunities. Let’s be a Church that
reaches out and shares the Good News.

Is there more to life than
this...a question most of
us will ask at some point
in our lifetime, but we often never have
time to stop and think about the question
and to search for an answer.
Alpha gives you this opportunity. It is a
series of sessions exploring the Christian
faith. It involves three key things; food a
talk and good conversation and over the
years many people have come to our Alpha
courses. Here are the stories of some
recent participants;
N was invited to a carol service by a friend
and enjoyed it so much she wanted to find
out more. Through listening to the talks
and by joining in the discussions, it gave
her time to reflect on the things she had
never had time to think about. During the
course she realised what faith meant to
her and has acknowledged God’s influence
on her life, and has been released from
guilt.
We welcome everyone at Alpha. It is, as
you can see from the above, an
opportunity to openly look at the
Christian faith and to be able to discuss
what this might mean, in a, friendly,
enjoyable, non-threatening environment.
Why not come along and even bring a
friend or two. We can promise you good
food, a warm welcome and stimulating
discussions – and it will give you time to
reflect on the big questions of life.
