Film to Premier in
Palm Springs

Rich Weissman and J.D. Horn,
through a donation from the Richard
Norris Weissman Trust, invite
you to be their guests at the Palm
Springs premier showing of the
highly acclaimed Freedom To Marry
documentary, a full-length feature
film by Eddie Rosenstein. The epic,
nail-biting, untold story of how samesex
marriage became law of the land
follows Evan Wolfson, the architect
of the movement, and his key colleagues
on this decades long battle,
culminating in the dramatic fight at
the U.S Supreme Court. More than
the saga of one movement’s history,
the film is the inspiring tale of how
regular people can actually win - and
how activists can effectively change
the minds and laws of the nation.

The event will represent the first time this
award-winning film is shown in Palm Springs.
As a gift to the Palm Springs community,
there will be no charge for tickets. There will
also be no fundraising at the event.
The Boston Globe called the film “Moving
and inspirational.” The San Francisco Bay
Times called it “Forceful and moving.” Other
important reviews include “Exhilirating” and
“Keeps you on the edge of your seat.”
Evan Wolfson, the founder and living legend
behind marriage equality, will be speaking at
the event!
Evan was the head of the Freedom to Marry
organization, who conceived of the concept
while at law student at Harvard three
decades ago. He worked on every step of the
effort, state-by-state and nationally. He now

works internationally, bringing marriage equality
to many nations throughout the world.
Evan will be joined at the event by other leaders
in the movement: Misha Isaak, General
Counsel to Oregon Governor Kate Brown,
who litigated same-sex marriage before the
U.S. District Court in Oregon, providing an
important win for the ultimate U.S. Supreme
Court decision; Geoff Kors, Palm Springs
Councilmember, who worked in the National
Center for Lesbian Rights, Equality California,
and other groundbreaking LGBTQ organizations,
and who was on the national board of
Freedom to Marry.
The Palm Springs Gay Men’s Chorus will
be singing at the event, to bring additional

Following the film, there will be a Q&A
with Evan.
Tickets are available on a first-to rsvp basis.
