At the movies<br />

Castlethorpe Historical Society programme now<br />

includes monthly film nights alternating with the<br />

regular talks by guest speakers on historical subjects.<br />

The film season kicks off on 25 <strong>January</strong> in Castlethorpe<br />

Village Hall with Christopher Nolan’s highly-acclaimed<br />

blockbuster Dunkirk, starring Kenneth Branagh, Tom<br />

Hardy and Mark Rylance. It tells the true story of how<br />

340,000 Allied troops are rescued from the beaches of<br />

northern France.<br />

Other big films lined up include Judy Dench in<br />

Victoria and Abdul; Bill Nighy and Gemma Arterton<br />

in the comedy Their Finest about a newly appointed<br />

as a scriptwriter for propaganda films and Churchill,<br />

starring Brian Cox as the wartime prime minister.<br />

It's panto time<br />

The Knights of the Round Table is a romp through the<br />

Arthurian legend, featuring the familiar characters of<br />

King Arthur, his queen Guinevere, Lancelot, Mordred,<br />

Morgana and others not so familiar!<br />

Will Morgana succeed in stealing the Round Table and<br />

disturb the power it gives King Arthur and his knights -<br />

can they find and return it to Camelot while facing the<br />

dangers of the Forest of Fear and the Cave of Woe?<br />

Evenings: Thursday 15, Friday 16 and Saturday 17<br />
