The <strong>Brain</strong> <strong>Injury</strong> Association of America, Inc. (BIAA)<br />

is the country’s oldest <strong>and</strong> largest nationwide<br />

brain injury advocacy organization. BIAA advances<br />

awareness, research, treatment, <strong>and</strong> education <strong>and</strong><br />

works to improve the quality of life for all people<br />

affected by brain injury. We are dedicated to<br />

increasing access to quality health care <strong>and</strong> raising<br />

awareness <strong>and</strong> underst<strong>and</strong>ing of brain injury. We are<br />

the voice of brain injury.<br />

BIAA’s <strong>Maine</strong> Chapter (BIAA-ME) is available to<br />

serve the more than 10,000 <strong>Maine</strong>rs affected by<br />

brain injury, their families, <strong>and</strong> the professionals who<br />

provide caring services after brain injury. Guided by<br />

a volunteer Advisory Board, BIAA-ME identifies the<br />

needs of <strong>Maine</strong>rs with brain injuries <strong>and</strong> their families<br />

<strong>and</strong> works to ensure that a wide range of services<br />

<strong>and</strong> supports are available in the state. BIAA-ME<br />

provides advocacy, education <strong>and</strong> information about<br />

brain injury to all those in need. A free monthly<br />

e-Newsletter published by BIAA-ME helps keep<br />

<strong>Maine</strong>rs informed about important issues <strong>and</strong><br />
