All Worlds Resorts

Easily the premier gay resort in the Palm

Springs area, and it draws crowds accordingly.

The hotel is situated at the gateway

to the “cruisy” Warm Sands neighborhood.

With the acquisition of the former

Inn Exile across the street now called All

World’s Annex, increased the property size

to nearly three and a half acres giving the

resort that much more space to cruise and

meet fun guys, since overnight guests get

access to both areas.

The 69 room hotel has six sparkling pools

and three hot tubs, community showers

and video social lounges are only the

beginning of what make up the mega All

Worlds Resorts that includes The Maze,

currently closed for extensive renovations,

will be “reopening soon,” and will run

from 9pm to 5am Fridays and Saturdays

and Sundays from 3pm to 11pm…

All World’s Sunday BBQ pool party with

live DJ music attracts up to a few hundred

“Day Pass” visitors every week. And when

the sun sets, All World’s comes alive with

guys looking for alternatives to the “bar

scene”.

Scott Swenson, General Manager of All

Worlds has always had the philosophy

of focusing on superior customer care.

Feeling that this philosophy is particular

important in Palm Springs because of the

many choices that one has. “I feel that if

the locals discover All Worlds they will be

sure to recommend us to their friends as a

place to stay when visiting the desert”.

So come on by and discover what all the

“buzz” is about at the largest gay resort in

Palm Springs!

Day passes are now available for $20 Monday

through Friday and $25 on weekends;

night passes are $20 Monday through

Thursday, $25 Friday through Sunday.

Towels and locks are $5. 760-323-7505

POLITICAL CARTOONIST

HAVE SUMMED UP THE

YEAR AND THERE ISN’T

MUCH TO LAUGH AT

Artists do effect politics. Those who

are most effective are the political cartoonists.

The association of American

Editorial Cartoonists have selected three

winners for the 2017 contest categories

of editorial cartooning. They are, Jim

Morin of the Miami Herald, for delivering

cartoons with sharp perspective,

flawless artistry, and biting prose. Second

place went to Jen Sorensen as a

freelance cartoonist, and third to, Steve

Sack of the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

These artist and others throughout the

U.S. and Europe have contributed political

commentary through their art and

writing that is usually more direct and

informative than editorial commentary.

Donald Trump has either been the

major subject of the past year’s political

cartoons. His unprecedented deviously

evil, scheming, involving, racism; misogyanism,

homo-phobia, greed, betrayal

of oath, distorting, and direct blatant

lying, just to name a few of his flaws, or

the incidents and fall out that have been

caused from his sociopathic behavior

have provided the content of political

cartoons.

The new year, 2018, will bring about

mid-term elections. Hopefully the

country will demonstrate an awakening

of what happens when a

a psychopath is elected and then supported

by other political bigots for their

personal benefit. With new people in

power the Congress

and Senate can take a primary emphasis

to proceed to remove this tyrant from

office. Political cartoonists, examples

shown in this article will be at the forefront

of assisting in the impeachment.

“Sing With Us”

Palm Springs Gay Men’s Chorus

To Hold Auditions

Mid-year through its 19th Season, The Palm Springs Gay Men’s Chorus (PSGMC) will be

holding open call auditions Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 7:00p.m. at Mizell Senior Center,

480 South Sunrise Way in Palm Springs. This special evening of camaraderie will also

be an opportunity to volunteer and get involved with one of the chorus’ many committees.

Interested singers can also attend open rehearsals on Tuesdays, January 16 and 23 at

7:00p.m. to get a feel of what it’s like to perform with the chorus and meet the members.

The “Sing With Us” campaign stems from the chorus’ tight knit group of men who are

passionate about performing and entertaining at civic and private events throughout the

cities of the Coachella Valley.

“In our continued effort to “Build a Chorus

Like No Other,” the PSGMC is always

committed to a high standard of excellence

in our performances. For this audition, we

will not only be recruiting singers for the

main chorus, but also for our small ensemble

group “The Arrangement.” It is an easy

and painless process with the main aspect

of the audition is that a singer is required to

match pitch,” said Douglas Wilson, Artistic

Director, PSGMC.

The Palm Springs Gay Men’s Chorus is

comprised of gay and straight-allied men of

all ethnicities. As we grow our membership

and continue to build diversity, we encourage

the Trans Community, if you identify as

a man and sing in the tenor or bass range,

to audition for the chorus.

The mission of the PSGMC is to be a

chorus of gay men, who through musical

excellence, community outreach, and civic

responsibility, are dedicated to entertaining,

inspiring, and educating the culturally

diverse community in which we live.

For more information on meeting the

requirements and an application form, visit

of ways to support the Palm Springs Gay

Men’s Chorus, visit www.PSGMC.com

The chorus is an auditioned, volunteer

choral ensemble consisting of male singers

age eighteen and older, gay or gay friendly.

THE LAST WORD by Greg Pettis

Here are My predictions and wishes for 2018

for our country and our valley.

1. Donald Trump resigns. The reason

doesn’t really matter - an indictment, health

or simply his business needs him. Our country

must be rid of this egomaniacal, uncontrollable

blowhard. President Pence won’t be

better from a policy stand-point but his finger

on the nuclear button instead of Trump

will help me sleep better.

2. The economy cools off. Not a downturn,

just a relaxation. This superheated

growth we are experiencing has always led

to a major drop in financial well-being. We

need to have growth but in a slower more

sustainable trajectory.

3. Democrats take back control of Congress.

I’m not a huge fan of the current Democratic

leadership in either the House or the

Senate, but a balance needs to be returned.

One party rule is never good, regardless of

which party. We need a dialogue and consensus

in our government. You don’t get

compromise when all the power is on one

Party.

1. CVLink continues to move forward.

The first section opens in a few weeks in

North Cathedral City. Ideally phase 2 will

begin soon thereafter and proves to be

extremely popular.

3. Numerous local city officials will

retire in November taking decades of experience

and leadership with them. This will

be the first time in years we may see a new

generation of young leaders.

1. Cathedral City moves to district

elections this November. Three seats will

be up for a vote with only one current

member seeking reelection ensures two new

councilmembers. There will be a period of

months of not a year while everyone settles

in and gets to know each other. Indio is in

the same position. I foresee at least La Quinta,

Palm Springs and possible Desert Hot

Springs going to districts by 2020.

2. Cathedral City will begin the process

to annex Thousand Palms and will complete

by 2020 to include their residents in the census

in the updated districts

This next year is critical to all of us. It is

important that we all remain vigilant and

RESIST.

Greg Pettis is a 22 year city councilman

in Cathedral City. He has made his name

in governmental circles as an expert in

transportation issues and is very active in

working on bringing passenger rail service

to the COACHELLA Valley. Greg was the

first openly gay elected city council members

In Riverside County. He has served

on the boards of the National League of

Cities and the League of California Cities

and as President of the Southern CA

Association of Governments.

2. The Coachella Valley Rail program

continues to move forward getting ready for

construction of new track and the purchase

of new engines and passenger cars.
