Friends, I cannot believe we’re at the end of another year &
produced a second yearbook volume. Time flies by much faster the
older we get—it’s somewhat bittersweet, but life goes on.
One of the reasons why I love doing the yearbook is to interact
with others and help see the sense of community of some of those
on the blogosphere, all hailing from different backgrounds but all
willing to go out and discuss thoughts or ideas, whether it’s
fangirling over a TV show (Stranger Things, anyone?) or getting
down to the nitty-gritty about problems found in contemporary YA
novels. There are so many ideas worth exploring and to find those
with the same interests of Internet dwelling, Hobbit-hole searching,
breakfast arguing, and excessive book and food photos on your
camera—admit this is real—is something special.
I don’t know how this next year is going to go. Some of us my leave
the blogosphere for good, others may stay—I for one, know while I
love doing the yearbook, I’m not sure if it’s going to happen last
year for numerous reasons. But instead of dwelling on what ifs, let’s
keep our heads up for everything good, shall we?
Abigail McKenna // NOVELS, DRAGONS, AND
WARDROBE DOORS
About: Over the years, Abby McKenna has lived in many fictional
worlds. She’s journeyed through the wardrobe, attended Hogwarts,
spent summers at Camp Half-Blood, & befriended many dragons. In
reality, She’s a pastor’s kid, big sister, dancer, & lover of all things
purple or giraffe themed.
Abigail Lennah // UPS & DOWNS
About: Abigail Lennah is a Filipino-American residing in northwest
US. She crafts stories featuring the unnoticed gray areas between
good & evil clashing forming the coherent tragedy & beauty
present in life. In her spare time, she’s found in the "real" world
with a (note)book at hand, volunteering at the library while making
terrible puns, or taking photos with friends inside a photo booth.
2017: “I have learned you can always, always ask for help, even
from those individuals who appear incredibly scary. I’ve also
learned to talk to your mentors and teachers twenty-four seven,
because sometimes, the best life advice will come from them and
maybe realize while the age difference is there, they went through
the same stuff you did—the good, the bad, the hilarious and
somewhat awkward.”
2017: “One positive change this year is how much my walk with
Christ has changed. I’m older now, & my life constantly shifts, but
I’ve learned so much about Him it’s hard to think I was any other
way. He’s brought me close to Himself, showing me things about
His ways & His heart I’d never seen before. He’s revealing Himself
to me every day in everything, & I couldn’t be more thankful or
blessed.“
Aliah // INDIGO INK
wispy person with a spring in her step and a book clutched to her
chest. When she is around people, she is always smiling, though
she tends to be more of an introvert around those who are not
close family and friends. Since starting her blog, she has fallen in
love with life online.
2017: “This year, I have done much more than just sitting in bed or
on the couch. I’m proud to say I am a part of several new
communities and organizations. I exercise weekly & am busy with
organizing events & collaborating with others. I’m no longer bored,
watching television for hours. I’ve returned to my regular reading
schedule, & am as content as I’ve ever been with my new routine.”

renowned for her terrible sense of direction, but also loyalty &
compassion towards those she loves.
many amazing girls, and my writing has grown immensely.”
hopes to travel far & wide to help orphans, her biggest heart
calling. She considers herself blessed growing up in a multicultural,
multilingual family & most blessed of all to be Jesus' daughter.
2017: “I feel like many of this year's reflections have included
treasuring every day and season, yes even the unpleasant days and
times, because what we sow in due season we will reap if we don't
lose heart

AUTUMN // AUTUMN’S READINGS & WRITINGS
About: Autumn Raelin is an aspiring creative & Jesus lover who has
too many passions to be defined by one title. When not typing
words furiously into her novel, she might be outside with her camera
around her neck, trying to capture the beauty in the world around
her.
2017: “Something I found out is that in life, very little counts & it’s a
crazy hard path unless you know who you are at your core & what
you truly stand for. For me, I've found my identity in Jesus Christ.
And 2017 taught me that regardless of the ups and downs life brings,
staying rooted in what I know is right and who I know I am is the
only way to stay safe and happy in this life. “
Charis Rae // CHARIS RAE
and I can't wait to see what 2018 has in store.”
Clara Ryder // THE ZEPHYR
adventure, a love for books, and a desire to live her life to the
fullest. She’s just an average girl who loves to write, watch old
movies, drink tea, day-dream of living in England, watch Downton
Abbey, eat Chinese food, fan girl over Collabro and take walks.
2017: “don't accept something as truth / just because its coming
from someone you respect. / we are all still growing. / we are all
still just learning to breathe, / to care, / to see, / to forgive, / to
live, / to love. we are all still learning about what it means to be
human. / and each of us have to discover what that means to us, /
in our own time.” -- c.r ryder
she’s doing an okay job of winging it. Pansexual & proud, she
would like to take this opportunity to clarify that she is in no way
romantically attracted to anybody’s kitchenware. Her hobbies
include spending too much money on nerdy t-shirts, insulting
people in Elvish, & attempting a thing called writing.
2017: “I’ve noticed this year had an increase in my social
confidence. For the first time, I often have someone to turn to &
I’m confident in my social interactions. Is that a typical answer?
Probably. Has stuff like that lost most of its meaning because we
hear it so often? Likely. But it means something to me. And –
something else I’ve learnt this year – that’s enough. “
Esther // AN INDEFATIGABLE LITTLE SCRIBBLER
About: If not burrowed away in her hobbit hole writing stories
about the darkness that is life, this Time Lady is reading a book (or
seven), baking cookies, or ranting in a blog post/comment on the
internet. She also has a family that probably do something and she
occasionally asks them for sandwiches.
2017: “I realized that even though life sucks, I can choose to make it
Hannah // CARPE DIEM
that is "Carpe Diem" which is Latin for "Seize the Day."
2017: “My positive memory involves a friend that I'm a very close
to & a trip I took to see them. I vowed I'd visit them before they
made another big move. I kept my promise & have a head full of
amazing memories that were made on my trip. Like dodging
puddles while holding tightly to a shared umbrella. Visiting too
many coffee shops to count, riding the underground T, and hugs
that you hold onto as you board the plane home.”
Gray Marie // WRITING IS LIFE
About: Gray Marie Cox is a Texas girl and author. She is a firm
believer in good books for all. Despite being perfectly blunt, she
is very loud & energetic most of the time because she is a blonde
trapped in a brunette's body. Gray is part of the rare & strange
breed of extroverted writers, which is why it takes her forever
to finish a book, because she'd rather be out partying with her
friends. You can find her at the library with a huge book bag,
your local pool swimming laps, wherever good music is being
played & sung, or you can go to her blog to read her thoughts &
Harry Potter and her beagle puppy!
2017: “During 2017, God brought me out of some tough times
and demonstrated to me that freedom can truly be found in
Christ's love. I've also discovered that I am capable of making a
living writing, which has been the coolest thing ever.”
Isabel // LITTLEMISSWIZZY
About: She is a kind, funny author, who wants to believe that
life's not that short, and that life is a game, and the choices we
make to win, will tell our future.
2017: “2017 was definitely a busy year! I started my blog, broke
my phone, left 6th grade and entered 7th! But I think I changed a
lot. I learned multiple lessons that I will never forget, and were
hard to get past. I made so many new friends, and lost so many
others. I think 2017 was like the intro, and this intro is telling me
that the rest of the story is going to be even harder!”
7

Izzy // B L U R R Y F A C E
INTRO: Izzy is twelve-years-old and likes rock and pop-punk
music, photography, art, and being outside
that failed.”
Jo Day // THE BEARABLE BLOG
About: In 2017, Sir David Attenborough recorded the first ever
sighting of a Jo. The creature wore the deceptive mask of an 18-
year-old girl armed with a cup of green tea, caught in Australia
whilst writing about pop culture, socio-political issues &
philosophical musings on her blog.
2017: “2017 was the year I woke up. Really. For two years I'd felt
like I lived in a dream sequence. I don't know what made me
believe in beauty again. Maybe it was great music, great books or
great places I visited. So I started a lifetime bucket list with more
of each of these things. Looking through a tunnel and seeing
sunnier fields on the other side ... that's a positive change,
definitely!”
Lexie // WHAT LEXIE LOVES
About: Lexie is a thirteen-year-old blogger who loves reading,
writing, listening to music, make-up & more. She has been blogging
for over three years now & believes it has changed her life for the
better. She is a creative, quirky teenager who wants to change the
world in some way & is trying her best to do so.
2017: “For me blogging-wise 2017 has been a hard year. I have
spent a lot less time reading blogs & instead spent my time
watching YouTube and TV. Not only that but I haven't been
posting regularly and feel like I have rather neglected my blog in a
way. I still absolutely love my blog with all my heart but feel like for
me, and many others, YouTube has of taken over. I really want to
change this and hope I can find a fun way to do so!”
Mackenzie // PAPER PIZZA
About: Kenzie is a friendly introvert who enjoys expressing her
love for pizza and books through miscellaneous words and the
overuse of caps. In her free time, you may find her in her room,
silently plotting to attack the world with glitter and yellow paint.
2017: I believe that the most positive transformation that
happened for me in 2017 was putting my blog through some
major changes. I feel as though it was the next step I needed to
take as a blogger and I did it.
LISA // Inkwell
About: She began her journey fifteen years ago & has discovered
many things. She found God is amazing. She’s seen books are
portals to other worlds she can visit at any time. She discovered
she wants to be a writer of every genre she can master. She
knows life holds much more for her to explore, thus why she
calls herself an adventurer - because there’s a hundred & one
things she’s ready to try. She’s called Lisa. And she’d love to meet
you.
2017: “I’ve learned I’m some writer - & found teens with the
same interests. I’ve discovered a world of things I didn’t know
before we turned the corner to 2017. I could write pages about
all the things they’ve taught & what I’ve learned can be summed
up in these words: never say you can’t. This year, friends, I’ve
found one more piece of who I am.”
9

Mary Shelley Reid // THE REID WHO WRITES
About: Mary Shelley is a southern girl who loves Jesus, coffee,
and words. When she’s not writing, she’s taking photos, reading,
or jamming to Mumford & Sons.
2017: I have become more confident in my endeavors & pursing
my dreams as I’ve realized that perfection is impossible, and the
only one who’s keeping me from my dream is me.
May // FOREVER AND EVERLY
About: May (aka the Mango Queen) is a teenage reader, writer,
dancer, & blogger. Another of her passions is to dance & be moved
by music. May blogs at Forever and Everly, with lots of screaming &
mangoes involved. She is Thai & proud, supporting all types of
equality, including race, gender, & sexuality. She thinks herself to be
very sweet and friendly, so hopefully she'll see you around!
2017: “I started blogging! I began my blog in January 2017, &
changed so much since then. I've gotten more immersed into the
bookish world, made the best of friends who I love with all of my
heart, & grown in confidence as well as just becoming a better
person. I definitely would not be the person I am today if I hadn't
started my blog this year.”
Mira Elizabeth // STEPPING INTO SUNSHINE
About: "Her soul was too deep to explore by those who always
swam in the shallow end.” -A.J. Lawless 2017
2017: “Never underestimate the little things. I helped put on a
free car wash with my youth group & an elderly woman in a car
whose hood was dingy pulled up. She asked if it was free & if there
was a suggested donation. I replied there was none & it’s an honor
to serve her. She raised it with a strangled cry of laughter and
tears. Later I learned that she had recently had surgery and could
find no one to help her wash her car, but that our free car wash
was the answer to her prayers. Simple acts of kindness might
seem like they don't mean anything, but they could change
someone's whole day for the better.”
10

Nabila // HOT TOWN COOL GIRL
About: Nabila is a twelve-year-old girl who is a little bit of a nerd
& absolutely loves blogging. Her natural habitat is on the couch
with a computer or book in her hand. Her favorite things are
reading, blogging, acting, singing, writing, & anything relating to
talking. Nabila lives with her parents & two sisters in Texas.
2017: “My whole mindset on how I think of the world changed
quite a bit. When I was younger I thought things were unfair &
complained over things like chores, & would tell this opinion to
everything who would listen. Over this past year I realized a lot of
things are unfair, but I’m so lucky, & shouldn't complain about
small things. Instead, I should learn and maybe try to make a
difference so that I can help someone who's life really is unfair.”
Noor // BOOKMARKD
About: Noor is an avid reader, potiential alien, writer, & world
creator (and destroyer. sometimes.) She loves anything pumpkin
flavored & she's crazy for Harry Potter (the series, but also the
character). She hates mushy blueberries & loves anything Maggie
Stiefvater. But most importantly, she loves having her blog and
sharing her never ending love for books.
2017: “2017 was a bittersweet year, but throughout the months, I
gathered one important lesson: never conform for anyone else.
You do your own thing, you manage your own life, but never
change because someone else wants you to. You are your own
person, your own individual, and you should act like it.”
Olivia Williams // LIFE AS A YOUNG LADY
About: Olivia is a seventeen-year-old Daughter of God, blogger,
writer, reader, & food-and-music lover. She's also a lover of the
Marvel Cinematic Universe and a homeschooler in her senior
year of high school. (She would also like to remind everyone that
the class of 2018 will be the "most lit graduating class since
1918").
2017: “I attended this super-lit pre-college creative writing
program this past summer and WOW. It removed a years-long
writer's block, introduced me to some of the most beautiful
people I've ever met, and taught me what college life is really like.
It really did change me and blessed me a lot.”
11

Rachel // SILVER MESS
About: Rachel is a writer, blogger, and video-maker who loves
children's fiction and daily vlogging. When she's not dreaming up
ideas for her next middle-grade story or editing a video, she's
hunting down her next indie-pop obsession, watching Netflix, or
spending time with friends and family.
2017: “I got a lot more serious about learning how to write well,
and in doing so have really seen my own growth as a writer. I
bought writing books on Amazon and took notes on them, I read
writing blogs, and really tried to work on my craft. This is the
year I got serious about it, and I'm so glad I did.”
Róisín K // TOTALLY RÓ
About: Róisín is an eighteen-year-old Irish Ravenclaw trying to
make it through the roller coaster of life currently on the bumpy
part of the Leaving Cert. Most of her friends and family call her Ró
(pronounced row), where she got her blog name from Totally Ró.
2017: “My favourite memory of 2017 is going to Edinburgh for five
days with my family. I enjoyed exploring another amazing city & the
culture offered. It was a chill time where I didn't have to worry
much about anything. I got to goof around, be a tourist & buy a few
things. I also went to The Elephant House Cafe where JK Rowling
wrote some of Harry Potter. It is such a wonderful place except
for the unpredictability of the weather and I felt at peace there as if
nothing in the world could bother me.”
Sarah // THE INTROVERTED EXTROVERT
About: Sarah is a blogger, writer, photographer & crafter who
started writing seriously at twelve, got into photography at ten, &
DIY-ed since forever and has tried basically 18213102938 crafts –
dabbling in almost anything and everything She mostly blogs about
life, with all its random realness & thoughts.
2017: “This year, I learned a lot about living in the moment. My
perfectionism was too much for me, & took up time that could
have been used to make memories. After praying, fighting and trying
to do it all myself, I finally gave it over to God. After just letting the
stress of things go and giving it all over to, I was able to make so
many more memories and have an epic summer.”
Sarah Rodecker // PEN OF A READY WRITER
About: Sarah Rodecker is a Christian twenty-something ailurophile
who loves food, books, & making things. She leads The Order of the
Pen, her writing group co-founded in 2014. When she’s not writing,
she can be found driving people places & exploring the strengths and
talents God gave her.
2017: “I learned to branch out & try new, scary things in the writing
world by learning the ropes of blogging and social media. I'm not
usually one for being super public. Do people really care about the
millionth picture of my cat? Probably not, but they do like knowing I
have a real life & that's important when making connections.
Learning to get comfortable in this discomfort zone has opened a lot
of doors I wouldn't otherwise have, so I'm proud I took the leap.”
Savannah Grace // SCATTERED SCRIBBLINGS
About: Savannah Grace is a dreamer, a creator, and a believer in
the power of stories. She’s also a teenage Christian writer living in
Nebraska. Writing is her passion. Her gel pen may or may not be
permanently glued to her hand. When she isn’t buried in her story,
you can find her reading, daydreaming, & living life as best she can.
2017: I’ve learned more about storytelling, and just how powerful
– and hard! – it is. Writing is both incredibly tough and incredibly
rewarding – and in 2017, I think I’ve started to discover more of
that illusive “voice” that writers tend to have. I’ve started to love
my writing more. My novel, Killing Snow, is slowly being pieced
together as God teaches me more about what it means to be a
storyteller. I can’t wait to see where it goes from here!
Skye // A LITTLE INKLING
About: Skye is a twelve-year-old blogger who started in August
last year. She previously blogged on TargetGirl Online under the
alias TargetGirl (so original). Several months ago, she started A
Little Inkling to mainly focus on book-blogging. Her biggest love is
photography and is obsessed with her camera.
2017: “This year I have really found myself, As I described on
first post on A Little Inkling, I have always lived behind a mask to
form myself into the person others want me to be. This year I am
throwing away the mask and just being me.”
d7000 camera. She’s left-handed, an extremely enthusiastic
blogger, & a reader of British murder mysteries. She has played
piano for nearly ten years & is currently working on her debut
album, "Greye".
2017: “One of the best transformations for me this year was on
my blog. I became much more open about myself & used my blog
as almost a journal to document my life rather than just post
photos on sporadically! I believe this is a good change because I
know someday I'm going to want to look back through my blog and
remember myself as I am now.”
Vanessa // SIMPLY ME
About: Vanessa started blogging to save memories from her life.
Her blog serves as a creative outlet she shares with other people
of like interest. She enjoys nature, dancing, exercise,
photography, music, making pretty meals and other randoms.
2017: “Self-love is something I knew I wanted to focus on this
year. Self-love is so important to being human but is often
neglected and I wanted to able to think of myself in more positive
and uplifting terms. Over 2017 I have put more focus on myself
and the outcome has been really amazing. I have learned more
about myself and grew a better relationship with myself.”
Zane // SIMPLE IMPOSSIBILITIES
About: Zane Jones, a writer, reader, & daydream believer, loves
abandoned places, old photographs, typewriters, & stories. Coming
home after a time away is one of the best feelings. Although she
occasionally wishes she lived in the past, in all honesty she's happy
exactly where she is. You can usually find her with her head in the
clouds and her nose in a book.
2017: “I’ve learned how to express myself a lot better this year,
through the start of my very first blog. Although I started knowing
nothing, I’ve gradually learned from other bloggers, my dad, &
YouTube. It’s been a great experience, & everyone has been
supportive! The blogging community is amazing, & I’ve loved making
friends online. I feel like I’ve gotten more confident in putting my
work out there for all to see. And that’s definitely a good thing.”
A Beautiful Disaster //
Daisy Paquet
When Wither is crowned king of the faerie, he knows that it is
up to him to free his people from the UnderKingdom, a vast
network of mines that his people have been confined to for a
thousand years. In a desperate attempt to prove himself, he
kidnaps the pyxie princess and swears that he will stop at
nothing to convince her to help them.
When Aspin, princess of the pyxie, finds herself in the
UnderKingdom, her first instinct isn't fright- she has never been
frightened of anything, for there has never been anything for her
to be frightened of. When she meets the faerie, she agrees to
help them into the world- into the light. A thousand years is far
too long; no one should be in the dark that long.
Together, Wither and Aspin launch headlong into an adventure,
setting off a chain of events out of their control.
“Slime, fidget spinners, and the Dancing Hot Dog.” • “Ummm. Instagram Live? I literally have no idea.” •
“The Floor is Lava challenge.” • “The first-ever head transplant scheduled at the end of 2017.” • “All I
can think of is mass crowds of humans staring at their phones playing Pokémon. Isn't that sad?!” • “The Beauty
and the Beast craze around the release of the new movie... I'm such a nerd.” • “Mocking SpongeBob
meme was a pretty defining meme.” • “The Women's March that I went to in January really has
impacted my life. When I think back to that event and how many people were there, I feel so
empowered and I realize that change can happen, and there are so many people advocating for
it.” • "Definitely fidget spinners! I still don't get the point, though. Sorry. I bet they'll be ancient history in a
couple years, just like Silly Bandz and Rainbow Looms. Anyone remember those?” • “Solar Eclipse!!” • “The
inauguration of President Donald Trump was a really big deal." • “iPhone X had everybody going crazy!” •
”Early 2017, Dabs. Which are dead, sorry to break it to you but DABS ARE DEAD.” • “The coming together
around the nation). There are a lot of evil people in the world, but there are also good people who
want to make a positive difference.” • “The release of Ravenquill Press!”
