Amanda Malan<br />
Amanda is a Visual Artist from South Africa born in the city of<br />
Bloemfontein in 1968.<br />
Her key themes are cultural and environmentally enthused,<br />
explored through a variety of mediums including oil paint,<br />
crude oil, water colour, acrylic fluid paint, ink relief printing<br />
and film.<br />
Amanda has been working as a self-taught artist for a number<br />
of years in the Republic of Ireland.<br />
Amanda has worked in collaboration with her fellow students<br />
creating the online exhibition ‘ Crossings’ featuring works<br />
relating to personal journeys , global journeys and pathways.<br />
“ Seeing the light” is a depiction of a personal journey , living<br />
as an expat in the Republic of Ireland. A journey of sadness and<br />
loss and given time, resulting in acceptance of her country of<br />
adoption.
