SOME SAD news on the front<br />
page this week. A well-known<br />
community service has cut staff<br />
and been forced to reduce its<br />
hours due to a lack of funding.<br />
It’s crucial these organisations<br />
get funding to be able to<br />
continue offering support and<br />
services within the community.<br />
On a positive note, the community<br />
has embraced hunting<br />
out red volcanic rock to resurface<br />
retaining walls in Lyttelton.<br />
On page 5, the city council<br />
had an overwhelming response<br />
from the community, collecting<br />
more rocks than initially<br />
needed.<br />
If you still have some of the<br />
red rock on your property, let<br />
the city council know.<br />
The Ferrymead <strong>Bay</strong>s under-17<br />
team suffered a loss via penalty<br />
