Kids get crafty and active<br />
IT WAS a fun trip to the<br />
Redcliffs Village Library for local<br />
children when they took part in<br />
some school holiday activities.<br />
It was the first time the<br />
programme has been run at the<br />
new building with more than 12<br />
children taking part.<br />
The children made book<br />
marks and Easter chicks before<br />
listening to some stories read by<br />
volunteer librarians. The event<br />
concluded with a scavenger hunt<br />
through the library looking for<br />
chocolate treats.<br />
The library is also now open<br />
for longer on Thursday, from<br />
10am-7pm and Saturday 10am-<br />
12.30pm.<br />
Shoreline Youth Trust also<br />
hosted a range of activities. The<br />
children had a go at tie-dying,<br />
went to Inflatable World and<br />
played football.<br />
CRAFT: The children were careful while they made their<br />
master pieces. <br />
PLAY: Having fun jumping and playing at Mega Air.<br />
SKILLS: Children at the Shoreline Youth Trust went to Olympia<br />
Gym and learnt a few things about gymnastics.<br />
PLAY: Georgia and Fletcher had fun running around<br />
Inflatable World.<br />
ARTY: Making colourful<br />
bookmarks were also a part of the<br />
holiday fun event.<br />
ACTIVE: The good weather gave<br />
the children a chance to get active<br />
and play a game of football at<br />
Sumner School.<br />
ADVENTURE: Millie, Guy, Archie and Sam got to explore the<br />
Christchurch Botanic Gardens in the warm weather.<br />
