Lyttelton
poet’s life
on film
• From page 1
As a young
filmmaker, such
accolades were
important to building
a portfolio and
helping get more
work, he said.
He made the
documentary while
still a student at the
Felix
Vaunois
New Zealand Broadcasting School
last year.
Originally from Auckland, Mr
Vaunois fell in love with the port
town while living in Christchurch.
“It’s such a beautiful mix of
industry and art. It seems an ancient
idea to be a poet in today’s society
but communities like Lyttelton
enable this to happen.”
The documentary was also entered
in the Sundance Ignite Challenge in
Utah, a competition for filmmakers
between 18 and 24, where it was
named in the top 25 out of 400
entries.
Mr Vaunois said he hoped to show
the film in Lyttelton as a final release
sometime this year.
