ONE OF the best lines of defence<br />
against burglars are nosey<br />
neighbours.<br />
A noisy dog and burglar alarms<br />
help too of course, but a neighbour<br />
with a phone is what every<br />
would-be burglar dreads.<br />
That’s because a photo of a<br />
burglar in the act is very hard to<br />
defend in court.<br />
So a bouquet for the neighbour<br />
who took video footage of two<br />
burglary suspects (see page 1) last<br />
week in Redwood.<br />
She called the police who were<br />
quickly in the area and two<br />
people fitting the descriptions<br />
on bikes were stopped for<br />
questioning.<br />
Once the video footage was<br />
examined by police the 22 and<br />
25-year-old were arrested.<br />
They have appeared in court<br />
and were remanded on bail to<br />
next month.<br />
