How to Begin with the And in Mind
January 21, 2018 | Philippine International Convention Center (PICC)
Talk 2:
Self-Love
AND
Selflessness
There Is No Conflict
Selfishness anc selflessness are polar opposites.
Some people think self-lore is equal to selfishness so they think self-lore is the
enemy of selflessness.
I mace that mistake before. It mace my life hell. Anc mace other people arounc
me experience hell, too, because I taught them my wrong paracigm.
From my experience of trying to follow Jesus for almost 40 years, I now beliere
that self-lore is essential to selflessness. You can’t be selfless without self-lore.
I believe self-love is the foundation of selflessness. That’s the exciting anc powerful
message we’re going to talk about tocay.
Hare an awesome Feast.
May your creams come true,
BO SANCHEZ
Love Yourself
I hare a mecical concition callec hyperhicrosis.
To gire you an icea of what that is, back in high school, my friencs nicknamec
me the human faucet because my hancs woulc sweat profusely I coulcn’t write on my
notebook without the paper cisintegrating.
I’re lirec with this all my life. Anc I remember the time when my parents took me to
a coctor for a prognosis anc they saic I coulc be curec just by remoring some of my excess
sweat glancs. But it meant that they woulc slice me open. So I saic no.
Eren at a young age, I belierec there was a reason why Goc mace me the way I
am, with all my perfect imperfections, as John Legenc aptly puts it. The Bible says that we
are “fearfully anc woncerfully mace.” (Psalm 139:14)
I lore myself. That’s why I can truly lore others. Selflessness begins with self-lore.
Before you can lore others, you neec to lore yourself. People who hare a harc time loring
themselres are less capable of loring others. That’s because their own lore tank is running
too low to eren spill on to others. They’re too busy trying to fill their own tank to notice others.
An empty cup cannot fill another cup. How can you gire when you yourself are
in neec? If you’re going to lore others, you neec to fill yourself with lore first. That’s how
selflessness begins.
In Him,
Hare a beautiful Feast!
One Goal Led to AnotheU
Rio Dela Cruz, a registered nurse, is now living her dream in the
US. Find out how she did it.
I can’t. It’s too far from Cavite City where I live.
These were the thoughts running in my head when my
best friend seeing me feeling down insisted I attend The Feast at
PICC.
Why wouldn’t I feel bad? I took the IELTS twice in 2015
and also failed twice. (IELTS or International English Language
Testing System is the language proficiency test one has to pass to
qualify for work or study in English-speaking countries.)
I’ve heard about Bro. Bo Sanchez before and I’ve even
gone to FBA once but just thinking about the long hours of travel
and costly fare discouraged me from going back. On my birthday,
July 16, 2016, I just went.
Inside the hall, I felt God’s overwhelming presence telling
me how much He loves me and that He has answers to my prayers.
That all I have to do is pray consistently and wait patiently. So I
decided to attend The Feast regularly and wrote my dreams on my
Novena to God’s Love; the first one – to pass the IELTS before the
year ends.
New Me
I learned to set my priorities. Even if I worked the
graveyard shift, I would still be there praising the Lord on a Sunday
morning. I also practiced tithing. I didn’t mind if I had little or no
money left after giving my love offering because I believed that
God would provide. And truly, He did every time.
In September the same year, I took the IELTS and again,
I failed. But even with a grieving heart, I continued to worship
and praise Him at FBA. I just knew He had something for me. I
also went to the KCon’s Grand Feast in November. There at the
MOA Arena, Bro. Bo said, “Write down your biggest achievement
this year.” For a minute, I couldn’t think of anything because my
biggest dream was not yet fulfilled.
Then, I smiled as I wrote down the most important thing
that happened to me that year – getting more intimate with God
through The Feast and knowing that He will never fail us.
or selflessness? How?
One After the Other
Three months later, I took the test again and finally, I
passed. The number one dream in my Novena to God’s Love
finally came true before the end of 2016.
In August last year, I passed my medical examination and
the interview at the US Embassy, which brought me closer to my
second dream – to be reunited with my family in America by 2017
and later, practice my profession there.
By God’s grace, in November last year, I arrived in the US.
Humbling Experience
I understand now why I had to go through all those
heartbreaking moments. My failures taught me to be more humble
and made me grateful for even the smallest blessings that God had
already given me. It also made me appreciate life even more.
I also learned that I am His powerful champion, that I
should always have goals in life and be a blessing to others.
shares how she achieved
most of her goals on her
The Power of And
Talk 1: Goals And Gratitude
BIG MESSAGE:
Return to the Blesser.
The Power of And. It is easy to choose what is good over something
bad. But when the choice is between two good things, we don’t need
to choose one. We can have both. Life is about balance. To unlock the
power of and means to live a life of harmony and balance – the secret to
happiness.
Goals are about achieving; Gratitude about appreciating. We need
to have goals in life and while in the process of attaining them, we should
be thankful for what we already have.
People with goals and no gratitude are stressed and miserable.
We need to savor and relish our small victories and the blessings we are
already enjoying.
On the other hand, people with gratitude and without goals
have nothing to strive for and may miss out on the mission that God has
for them. We need to live for something bigger than ourselves.
God is a God of purpose. He created us for a reason. He gave us the
ability to dream and the power to fulfill the dreams He has for us.
Obey and the blessings will follow. Seek God and return to His fold,
and surely we will receive His favors. Be grateful for our past blessings
and thank the Lord in advance for His future blessings.
