New Blind Sales Priced from $30 Somerfield residents lose fight to stop multi-unit complex • By Bridget Rutherford A TWO storey multi-unit development has got the go ahead in a tree-lined Somerfield street, in spite of fierce opposition from residents. Multay Developments plans to build four two-storey units at 23 Studholme St. Residents rallied to fight the development earlier this year because they said it would take away the street’s family-orientated appeal, privacy and the neighbours’ sun. But because of district planning rules, the development has now got the green light. Originally, Multay Development’s application featured three aspects not compliant with the District Plan. A hearing earlier this year decided consultation with some neighbours would be needed as part of the resource consent process.
