take on Australia’s best.<br />
Jordan Riki (Hornby<br />
Panthers), Seth Tauamiti<br />
(Papanui Tigers), and<br />
Daniel Sakisi (Celebration<br />
Lions) have been named in<br />
the New Zealand Residents<br />
18s wider training squad to<br />
meet an Australian-based<br />
selection of young New<br />
Zealanders playing for<br />
NRL clubs.<br />
The Australian-based<br />
squad includes former<br />
Celebration Lions Cruz<br />
Topai-Aveai and former<br />
Halswell Hornets scrumhalf<br />
Joseph Taipari.<br />
Topai-Aveai (now with<br />
the Cronulla Sharks) and<br />
Taipari (Parramatta Eels)<br />
play in the Holden Cup.<br />
The New Zealand<br />
Residents 18s will<br />
be whittled down to<br />
an 18-man squad on<br />
September 12 to take on<br />
the Australian-based team,<br />
known as Taurahere, on<br />
September 23 in Auckland.<br />
