The Laboratory are pleased to announce their first Arts On Tour NZ event for 2017 will be on Monday 27 February presenting hugely popular violinist Fiona Pears. Touring together with her husband, English record producer and musician Ian Tilley on piano, Pete Fleming on double bass and Burke Goffe on guitar, Fiona will play a mix of musical styles including tango, gypsy, Celtic, classical and jazz - some traditional, many her own compositions. In clubs, theatres, iconic country halls and even a band rotunda – Fiona and her band will be entertaining audiences up and down the country this February with Arts on Tour NZ. Besides her amazing technique, Fiona knows how to enjoy herself on stage, and that enjoyment is contagious. She’s a crowd favourite…. Tickets are $20 and available over the bar or online from eventfinda.co.nz Look forward to more great performances at ticketed events at The Laboratory throughout 2017. Check out our website for these and other great community events at The Laboratory - www.thelaboratory.co.nz “The audience couldn’t help but smile as we recognised that here was a musician who not only has an amazingly accomplished technique, but she’s also up on stage having a ball.” – Nelson Mail . “Banish from your minds all preconceptions of orthodoxy in the world of the violin. Fiona Pears has largely rewritten the script” – The New Zealand Herald. The Laboratory is opening especially on a Monday (when normally closed) so the whole venue will be given over to the show. The show starts at 7pm and will run for a couple of hours including an interval. The bar will be open with a limited menu available on the night and seats are limited, so do book a table by calling 325 3006 if you have purchased a ticket and want to ensure you get a great seat to dine while you enjoy the show.
