Ellesmere Vintage Club committee member Jonty Ward said: “This is to celebrate 175 years of the Case farm machinery company. “The five machines are coming from as far as Wanaka for the event.” He said several rare exhibits had been entered in the fair, including some in the vintage and classic car section. Women’s institute celebrates 95 years A seat installed in the Lincoln’s Liffey Springs subdivision by the Women’s Institute Federation of Canterbury East was blessed by Lincoln Union Church minister Phyllis Harris (left). As part of a national project to celebrate 95 years of the women’s institute in New Zealand, federations around the country have been tasked with installing a seat for their community to enjoy. At the ceremony, the ribbon was cut by long-time Lincoln Women’s Institute member Frances Fox. The seat was made locally from macrocarpa and put in place on Jimmy Adams Dr. The Canterbury east federation includes Lincoln, Ladbrooks, Prebbleton, Springston and Oaklands.
