St. Joseph School strives to build students with academic excellence
On Sept. 28, 2017,
U.S. Secretary of Education
Betsy DeVos recognized
St. Joseph School
in Wilmette as one of 342
National Blue Ribbon
Schools. The recognition
is based on a school’s
overall academic performance
or progress in
closing achievement gaps
among student subgroups.
“National Blue Ribbon
Schools are active demonstrations
of preparing
every child for a bright
future,” said DeVos to the
honorees. “You are visionaries,
innovators and
leaders. You have much
to teach us: some of you
personalize student learning,
others engage parents
and communities in the
work and life of your local
schools and still others
develop strong and
forward-thinking leaders
from among your teaching
staff.”
St. Joseph School is a
Catholic grade school offering
2-year-olds through
eighth graders in Wilmette
and surrounding
suburbs. The leadership,
faculty, parents, and students
of St. Joseph School
work together each day
to serve the School’s
mission of academic excellence
while fostering
personal and spiritual
development within
a Catholic community of
faith. This collaborative
effort has resulted in a
school, with over a century
of tradition, in which
students have flourished
academically while successfully

St. Joseph students benefit

Enrichment Opportunities
