22ndCenturyMedia.com private school guide 22nd century media | January 25, 2018 | 3 Glenview New Church School provides options to serve needs of community The Glenview New Church School has been around since 1894, and has been serving the needs of Glenview and surrounding area families ever since. Centrally located near the heart of Glenview, the Christian-based, private school sits on a quiet, 26 acre campus boasting wide open fields and wooded areas, a pond, school garden, multiple playgrounds, and is perfectly suited to provide an exceptional, beyond-the-classroom-walls learning experience. In recent years, with more parents both working, GNCS has developed programs to accommodate every need. The school prides itself on providing an excellent, individualized education, and has added more programs for those wishing to enhance educational opportunities or extend school days to fit a work schedule. GNCS offers programs from preschool through grade 7. Last year, the school added a Turning-3 preschool class, and continues to offer full or halfday preschool options. Kindergarten is full-day, a rarity in some communities. The school also offers a Kindergarten extension program to complement District 34’s half-day Kindergarten programs. The school provides a free shuttle from D34 schools directly to GNCS. Students have options for popular after school enrichment classes such as gymnastics, baking, science, crafts and more. Aftercare can be arranged to extend the school day even further. While serving the needs of the community by providing many options at reasonable tuition rates, GNCS also focuses on serving those needs in a different way. The school emphasizes going out into the larger community and incorporating charity into students’ learning experience. Each year students go on field trips to food and clothing donation centers and other charities. In the process, students learn to be well-rounded, caring individuals who build on kindness and sharing of their time and talents to help those around them. GNCS strives to prepare students for life and to make a difference.
