Tommy Mark General Manager, The Lord Crewe Arms, Blanchland Tommy’s fling with hospitality began when he was a young boy and he used to sit on his father’s knee at the pub listening to the "craic" whilst snacking on the occasional pork scratching. So, when his dad bought the local pub in his teenage years, it seemed a natural progression for Tommy to go behind the bar, enjoying the banter and buzz of drinkers. Luke Millikin General Manager, The Painswick Luke’s journey into hospitality began somewhat exotically as a child, passing the time poolside in Doha. His dad was a civil engineer and a perk of the job was often being posted out to exciting locations... and sleeping over in lavish hotels. After 8 years of being second in command, Tommy flew the nest and went on to run a "foodie" gastro pub in a quaint village in the North East, overseeing its sister pub just down the road. laid back... cyclist... genuine... sociable... kind... Sunderland fan... sharp... charismatic... professional... focussed... consistent... curious... It was during this time, whilst his older brother and sister committed themselves to becoming prolific swimmers, that Luke’s realised he wasn’t quite as "normal" and his curiosity for service began. Pulling on the ankles of porters around the hotel, little by little Luke began to be let in on a few tricks of the trade. It was during this post that he first heard about Calcot and their plans to rejuvenate the Lord Crewe Arms. After reading our "Seven Golden Rules of Hospitality," he knew he had to have the job! Re-opening the Lord Crewe in 2014 to a great reception, Tommy’s only black mark is that he sports a Sunderland shirt. Back in the UK at the tender age of 13 and based on the Bridlington sea front in Yorkshire, Luke worked his way through the industry, eventually finding his calling in Front of House. Then, intent on accomplishing his dream of running a hotel, Luke ticked off a degree in Hotel Operations before going on to posts in hotels with accolades longer than your arm. Now at the helm of The Painswick, Luke is excited to be an integral part of our "baby" of the family.

Pat Sparkes Head of Human Resources Claire Wilson Marketing Manager Born and raised in Hong Kong, Pat's party trick is her ability to do a countdown in Cantonese. Although she’s not sure how this helps with HR she is certain that her love of the law and legal process is why this job is so right for her. A chartered fellow of the CIPD, Pat is also an animal enthusiast (when all else fails talk about your dog!) and a dedicated get fit lady, taking on the London Marathon in her spare time... no biggie. Andrew Doel Financial Controller Andrew's team of four keep all of the suppliers (and the bank) happy and produce the management information the Board and GM's need to run the divisions. Andrew was a fully qualified aacountant at 22 (many years ago), first became involved in hospitality in 2002 and joined Calcot in 2010. When not working on spreadsheets, Andrew is tinkering with his collection of cars and motorbikes, watching football or, injuries permitting, playing five-a-side with other old blokes. burger lover... Excel nerd... sweet tooth... witty... number cruncher... petrol head... thoughtful... busy... rugby nut... gardener... cook... loves ironing... With a BA (Hons) in Photography from Bournemouth Arts Institute, Claire worked as a photographer on studio and fashion shoots. After a few years on the creative side, she ventured into ad agency account management, working with notable clients such as Visa, BskyB and Vodafone, followed by six years working with Raymond Blanc OBE, at Le Manoir as in-house Marketing Manager. In 2016, we lured her to Calcot to plan and oversee the in-house marketing initiatives for all of our properties. Olive Hanna Executive House Keeper Snapped up in 2010, Olive is our wonderful, no-nonsense Head of Housekeeping for the whole hotel collection. Yes we said it... the WHOLE collection. Sporting a keen eye for detail, cleanliness that is next to nothing-like-it-ness and a marvellous Midlands accent, she makes an army major look like a novice when she draws her starch and polish. perfectionist... direct... jammie dodgers... down-to-earth... no nonsense... hands-on... Lindsay Reynolds PA to the Chairman & Directors T H E B R A I N S Edward Stevens Property Services Manager Ed studied for a BSC (Hons) in Estate Management at Kingston University. Following his degree, Ed worked alongside surveyors in London, managing estates. He worked with Gross Fine, part of the Erinatious Group (it means hedgehog in Latin), managing 8 estates from North London to Richmond. In 2006, Ed joined Calcot as Properties & Facilities Manager. His team fix anything and everything throughout our properties. He's also our resident IT genius. She’s flown all over the world as a member of Virgin cabin crew, been a once-upon-a-time "house parent" to 52 boys at a Cambridge boarding school and assisted in editorial work. Now, after 6 years as a PA at a Bath law firm, she’s the lady that we all want! Personal assistant to Mr. Ball and the rest of his motley crew, Lindsay is the perfect mix of skilled organisation and calm composure. Quiet... composed... professional... caring... polite... organised...
