Barnsley House was

Barnsley House was once-upon-a-time the family home of Rosemary Verey, the revered gardener. The 17th century house sits perfectly in the small Cotswolds village of Barnsley and is entirely beautiful. The legacy of its gardens will always be at the forefront of Barnsley’s offering and shape its restaurant, "The Potager," from day-to-day and service-to-service. There are 18 wonderful bedrooms imbued with understated country luxury, a fresh and forward thinking restaurant headed by our handsome Italian Chef Francesco Volgo and a rather quirky bar. Barnsley offers a 4 red star experience to guests who, looking to retreat to the rolling hills of the Cotswolds, enjoy being pampered with the highest quality products and who appreciate our signature, unobtrusive style of service. At the bottom of the garden is our hidden gem, Barnsley Spa and our wacky pink cinema—both are reasons for our guests to sit back, relax and let themselves be spoilt. Just across the road is "The Village Pub." Everything that its name implies, it boasts a fantastic array of local craft ales, crackling fires and a hearty, gutsy menu that is simply todrool-for. There are also six well-dressed bedrooms, which are almost always on a waiting list.
