Increased intensity of weather events can have significant impact on the City’s citizens and infrastructure. The flooding in July 2013, the ice<br />
storm in December 2013 and a record number of extreme cold weather days in 2014-2015 are examples of emergency situations that have<br />
had significant impact on the City’s services, infrastructure and costs.<br />
It is critical now, more than ever, to ensure the City has a <strong>Long</strong> <strong>Range</strong> <strong>Financial</strong> <strong>Plan</strong> that will ensure the City is positioned to deal with<br />
unforeseen events that may result in significant financial pressures. While it is not possible to predict the future, ensuring the appropriate<br />
tools and financial strategies are in place will position the City for sound fiscal decision-making.<br />
