download design files to print 3D objects.<br />

Introduction to Tinkercad: Monday, <strong>February</strong> 19th, 7 PM or Tuesday,<br />

<strong>February</strong> 20th, 10 AM. Learn how to use this online program to create<br />

objects for 3D printing.<br />

YOUNG ADULT PROGRAMS teens grades 9-12<br />

• Anti-Valentine’s Day Party - Tuesday, <strong>February</strong> 13th, 4-6 PM, Room 2A.<br />

Teens in grades 9-12 who are sick of seeing all the lovey-dovey mushy<br />

stuff can “un-celebrate” Valentine’s Day with crafts, food and fun at this<br />

Anti-Valentine’s Day Party! Materials for this event are made possible<br />

by the Friends of the George Memorial Library.<br />

• Young Adult Book Club – Saturday, <strong>February</strong> 14th, 5 PM, Room 2B. Teen<br />

readers will have the opportunity to meet with others who share the<br />

same love for great books and have a lively discussion on the reasons<br />

a book or its characters were liked or disliked. This month, readers will<br />

talk about Zenn Diagram, written by Wendy Brant.<br />

• Young Adult Advisory Council - Wednesday, <strong>February</strong> 21st, 5 PM,<br />

Room 2B. Teens in grades 9-12 who are interested in an exciting new<br />

leadership opportunity and volunteer-service hours are invited to<br />

attend this meeting of the Teen Advisory Council. Members will have<br />

a chance to share ideas about library programs, to help out at events,<br />

to give suggestions for teen services, books and movies and to meet<br />

new people.<br />

CHILDREN’S PROGRAMS<br />

• Toddler Time: Thursdays at 10 AM, offers caregiver/child activities,<br />

stories and songs for older babies, from 12 to 36 months of age.<br />

• Pajama Night Story Time: Thursdays at 6:30 PM, gives families an<br />

evening option for some activities presented during the daytime.<br />

• Family Story Time: Saturdays at 10 AM. Families with children of all<br />

ages are invited to come and enjoy stories, movies and crafts together.<br />

• After-School Breaks: 3rd Thursday, 4 PM, in the Meeting Room. Crafts,<br />

movies, stories and more for school-aged children in grades kindergarten<br />

through 3. The program on <strong>February</strong> 15th will be “Wax-Paper<br />

Lanterns.” Create lanterns using crayon shavings, wax paper and craft<br />

sticks.<br />

• The Creative Connection: 2nd and 4th Wednesday, 6 PM in the Middle<br />

Grades department. Activities specially designed for kids in grades 4<br />

through 8.<br />

<strong>February</strong> 28th: From Sketch to Finish: Sailor Moon<br />

• Middle School Program: 1st and 3rd Mondays, 6 PM in the Teen area.<br />

Activities for youth in grades 6 through 8.<br />

<strong>February</strong> 19th: How to Make a Bouncy Ball<br />

SPECIAL FAMILY EVENTS<br />

• Cowboy Stories with Larry Callies - Tuesday, <strong>February</strong> 13th, 6 PM,<br />

Meeting Room. Larry Callies, from the Black Cowboy Museum in<br />

Rosenberg, will share cowboy tales and songs. He will also show off<br />

his skills with a lasso! This event is for families with children of all ages.<br />

• Preschool Story Time: Wednesdays at 10 AM, 3 to 6 years of age, presents<br />

stories, movies and age-appropriate craft activities.<br />
