will be selected to exhibit at the <strong>2018</strong> Bayou<br />

City Art Festival Memorial Park. Cash Prizes<br />

are awarded for “Best in Show,” second and<br />

third, as selected by on-site judges. Ribbons<br />

are awarded for “Best Booth” and all winners<br />

receive jury exempt status for two years as well<br />

as priority booth placement.<br />

NATURE PROGRAMS FOR<br />

PRESCHOOL-AGED CHILDREN<br />

SATURDAYS IN NATURE<br />

This program is held on the fourth Saturday<br />

of each month at the Edith L. Moore Nature<br />

Sanctuary, held between 1 and 4 PM. A guided<br />

nature walk will begin at 2 PM. No reservations<br />

required. Donations are encouraged. This is<br />

a “whole family” program; parents or other<br />

adult guardians should participate with<br />

their children. Park in the Memorial Drive<br />

United Methodist Church parking lot at 12955<br />

Memorial Drive, enter the nature sanctuary<br />

through the marked gate and proceed on the<br />

path to the log cabin. Upcoming programs<br />

include January: Migration - Craft: Flying<br />

Duck. <strong>February</strong>: We Love Wildlife - Craft:<br />

Animal Valentines.<br />

The Titmouse Club<br />

The Titmouse Club is a nature program for<br />

children ages 2 ½ to 5 sponsored by the<br />

Houston Audubon Docent Guild. The program<br />

is offered every Tuesday and Wednesday<br />

morning, 10 to 11 AM, from mid-September<br />

until mid-May at the Edith L. Moore Nature<br />

Sanctuary, 440 Wilchester Boulevard. Each<br />

week features a different nature theme and<br />

may include nature talks, stories, hands-on<br />

activities and walks in the woods. For more<br />

and look under Audubon Docents. The cost<br />

is $5 per child per session or a 5-session card<br />

can be purchased for $20. The child must be<br />
