12 Your guide to Show Homes & New Sections in the Selwyn District A community development at Devon Green The first two groups of Devon Green purchasers recently took possession of their new homes, and already the new residents are talking about having a street party to celebrate. An initiative of Generation Homes, the Devon Green community development is an example of affordable building that still offers a high quality product. It is therefore not surprising that this new subdivision is attracting interest from a mix of people that include individuals, mature couples, and first home buyers cashing in on their KiwiSaver and the opportunity to realise a HomeStart Grant. “With the landscaping and finishing work now complete, the homes look really good,” says Evan Beker who along with wife Nadja, are joint venture partners of Generation Homes Christchurch. “We had a goal of creating a vibrant community with this development, and it has been fantastic seeing this coming together.” The homes in Devon Green cost between $435,000 and $465,000 for a three bedroom architecturally designed semi-detached or standalone home and land package. All come with high quality fittings that include engineered stone bench tops and standard Bosch appliances in the kitchen, heat pump, and ensuites/ walk-in robes in the main bedrooms. There is also ample storage and indoor, outdoor flow through sliders that lead to patio and garden courtyards. The total size of the homes varies from 127 to 155 square metres. The smaller units have single car garaging while those between 140 and 155 square metres have a double garage. Section sizes average around the 400 square metre mark. Externally, long-run roofing, upgraded bricks and linear oblique feature cladding combine to make the homes extremely attractive, as does the fully landscaped sections. A mix of trellis style fencing and hedges separate the homes while specimen trees will be planted throughout the sub-division for an appealing open environment. A total of forty five homes are planned for Devon Green, fourteen to be two storey townhouses and thirty one single level dwellings. Already twenty six of the latter have been sold with the last stage of single level packages soon to be released. Generation Homes has also just released their two storey townhouse stage. These spacious three bedroom 150 square metre homes overlook the Devon Green reserve. Layout options include two bedrooms upstairs with an ensuite and master bathroom while there is also a separate downstairs bedroom and toilet. Some designs also have an ensuite for the downstairs bedroom. These layout options make these townhouses ideal for single people who wish to have a flatmate, for multi-generational families, and for investors.
