10 Your guide to Show

10 Your guide to Show Homes & New Sections in the Selwyn District Supporting the community While the name Harcourts is synonymous with real estate, many are probably unaware of the significant part this organisation plays in supporting the community; something that is at the heart of its core values. Two goals influence Harcourts – people first and doing the right thing. Stemming from these values, the Harcourts Foundation was established and so far it has helped thousands of people in New Zealand and overseas. Any person or organisation can apply for funding with health, schools, surf lifesaving and many more having benefitted from grants or other assistance. Recently, the Harcourts Four Seasons Realty (through the Foundation) supported the school children in Kaikoura, when its staff collected and assembled school supplies, with every child given a school backpack loaded with pens and books for the start of the school year. Locally, the Foundation financially assisted the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra’s programme where music was taken into schools, giving students the chance to hear orchestral music and learn about the instruments. Within Selwyn, Harcourts have been significant players in funding the setting up of the new St John centre in Rolleston, with considerable fundraising carried out by the Harcourts’ team who held events including a public quiz night with a charity auction. Harcourts Four Seasons Realty also have a history of assisting the Hornby Rugby Club junior division, supplying items that a sports club can struggle to pay for such as player jackets, duffle bags, promotional flags, marque use and trophies for player of the day. The Foundation is also primary sponsor of the Harcourts’ Cancer Society Ball, an annual winter event that will be held this month. There are other exciting plans under wraps for more support of key community activities. Harcourt’s Four Seasons Realty has three offices at Hornby, Halswell and Rolleston. They specialise in residential properties, rural lifestyle, property management and some commercial, conducting business across Christchurch and beyond. Sixty people make up the Harcourt’s Four Seasons Realty team, covering sales and administration, focussing on Christchurch’s south west and the Selwyn district. In the sales team there is tremendous experience, many having been with the company for over 25 years. Most live and work in the same area allowing them to have an intimate knowledge of the district.
