Second-five Wil Gualter came up with the goods when it mattered for Lincoln, scoring a 90m intercept try to all but win the game. Rangiora were first to score before Lincoln answered back through tries to winger Beau Luxton and fullback Kyle Jamieson, which were both converted by Brett Gillan. In the second half, Rangiora opted to go for a try after being awarded a penalty. The decision resulted in Gualter’s run-away try. Rangiora scored a third try late in the game to make the final score 21-17. Lincoln will host two of the competitions powerhouses in their final two round-robin games.
