The Canterbury Astronomical Society observatory has three fixed telescopes and an assortment of portable telescopes, which will be open during the public open night programme. Introduction talk starts at 7.30pm with a sky tour and telescope viewing to 9pm. Opening will be dependent on the weather, so check the website before heading out to the observatory. The event will be held on Friday, 7.30pm at RF Joyce Observatory, 218 Bells Rd, West Melton. Tickets are available on Eventbrite. Adults $15, children $10.
