The Burton Agnes Orchid Festival this March
is a celebration of the beauty and diversity of
orchids. There will be magnificent displays of
vibrantly coloured and gently fragrant flowers,
and expert advice available. After marvelling at
the displays of orchids, visitors can wander in
the woodland walk to catch the final days of the
snowdrop opening (included in the admission
price). Visitors are also welcomed to the
courtyard, where the shops will be stocked with
new season’s stock, home grown plants will be
sold and the café will serve home cooked meals
and delicious treats throughout the weekend.

film about a friendly bear from deepest darkest

We will be going in search of distant galaxies
and sparkling star clusters with our spring star
party. This is one of the best times of year to
observe and a real favourite of stargazers. The
constellation of Leo dominates the southern
sky and eyes will be peeled for shooting stars
and satellites scuttling overhead. We’ll have
telescopes and binoculars at the ready and take
you on a tour of the heavens. But we’ll start with
a colourful beginners’ talk to set the scene and
answer some of those questions you’ve always
wanted to ask. Event goes ahead in all weather.
You will even get the chance to handle four
billion year old rocks from outer space!
