Session 3 This third

Session 3 This third session will focus on the objectives of teaching players in these age groups how to build from the back. Session Structure We will start the session with the FIFA 11 warm up protocol, and progress with two technical exercises (star Final Game passing) designed to train passing and receiving in a pattern that emulates the technical demands and movements Game Situations when building from the back. The next exercise is a game situation designed to train Technique Training three players (central defenders) to keep possession against two opponents. Further, they try to advance the Warm Up ball to the next zone where two players (midfielders) will coordinate their movements to provide passing options. The next two activities would be a 6v4 +Keeper (phase of play in zones designed to isolate the chain of play and have players taking advantage numbers up in the various situations on the field. If the numbers allow it, the coach can finish with a 9v9 game or a similar variation. In the game, the coach can concentrate on highlighting some realistic situations when building from the back. 0 5 10 15 20 25 30 Session 4 We initiate the session with the FIFA 11 warm up protocol, followed by a 20 minute technical exercise (star passing). This technical routine is similar to the one presented in the previous session. The idea is to progress on some of the technical demands introduced in session 2. The next exercise is a 5v3 game situation. It trains the ability of players to use passing and receiving techniques under pressure, similar to situations that they would encounter in a game. The field setup forces players to begin in a diamond Session Structure Final Game Game Situations Technique Training Warm Up shape, with a midfielder working in the middle to receive the ball and advance it from one end to the other. 0 5 10 15 20 25 30 35 The session progresses with a 4v3 game that works the wide chain of encouraging possession and quick movement of the ball, allowing the player in possession time and space to make decisions. We finish the session with an 8v7 game, on a part of the field with a condition that forces buildup and players moving together, while the try to build up play. 32
