FACILITIES
High quality
FACILITIES to
play cricket
which support
the growth of
the game
What we set out to achieve:
• The number of playing and practice facilities that will meet
the current and anticipated future demand for cricket
• Improve the quality of playing and practice facilities
Achieving our outcomes?
HCB’s approach is to work with clubs, local authorities, the ECB
and other grant aiding bodies such as the Hampshire Playing
Fields Association, to ensure that ambitions for increases in
playing numbers are supported by facilities of appropriate
standard – pavilion accommodation, practice facilities,
sightscreens, covers, and pitches.
The provision of pavilions/changing rooms requires significant
capital investment, whether in the form of new build or
refurbishment. Progress can at best be described as ‘steady‘,
but there have been some significant examples of progress:
Lymington.........................................Pavilion Refurbishment
Waterlooville ..................................................Practice Nets
Petersfield .......................................Pavilion Refurbishment
Ampfield & North Baddesley............................New Pavilion
Sarisbury Athletic................................Ground Regeneration
Bashley (Rydal)...................................GroundImprovements
Hambledon ....................................... Ground Improvements
Purbrook ............................................ Ground Development
Grayshott..........................Broxhead Pavilion Refurbishment
