Happy New Year! January is a time to start fresh, which is why we’ve given our pages a little makeover – we hope you like it!
If you’ve decided to give yourself an overhaul in the New Year, be it your health, home or style then we have plenty of ideas to keep you on track. From new
hobbies and sporting activities to updating the home on a budget, we have it covered.
If like me, and many others, you’ve pledged to join the vegan bandwagon in 2018, read our guide to the best restaurants on page 50. After the Christmas hype, January can make us feel rather down so get away from it all with
our guide to North Norfolk and the best spas for a detox.
There’s also plenty of events and days out to keep you busy – no January blues here!
Here’s to a fabulous 2018!
As I write this the wind is lashing against the windows while the wind blows a gale, but I’m hopeful that spring is just around the corner. Well, I certainly hope so, as this month English Tourism Week is encouraging us to get out and about and make the most of the attractions on our doorstep. There are hundreds of free tickets up for grabs plus special offers, read the full feature on page 29. We also have an exciting giveaway in collaboration with Visit Norwich and the Maids Head Hotel!
If you’re on the hunt for something to do this Easter, you’ll be spoilt for choice with our pick of events, including spring fairs, egg hunts and family-friendly attractions. Hopefully, we’ll be treated to some glorious spring sunshine too! But if we’re not so lucky, you can always hideaway in one of Norwich’s quirky brunch cafes with a cuppa – we list our top 10 on page 62.
February always puts a spring in my step; a brand new month with so much to look forward to! Lighter evenings are creeping in and the region is beginning to wake up from its winter slumber. This month stately homes are opening their gates to a display of daffodils and snow drops (read our top 5 on page 29), there’s new art exhibitions inspired by the season ahead and we welcome the first festivals of 2018 – I’m looking forward to seeing Cambridge light up with the return of the e-Luminate Festival!
It’s also the month of love! To celebrate we have plenty of ideas for Valentine’s Day and a handy gift guide, plus a wedding special with 13 pages dedicated to planning the perfect big day in the East of England. We’ve found the quirkiest venues in the East, list the hottest décor trends for 2018 and have plenty of tips and advice, but if you want more head to our Weddings Facebook page for exclusive offers and ideas at www.facebook.com/eastlifeweddings/
