If a drill gauge is not available the mounting holes may also be drilled, according to the measurements of the illustration shown here. Mounting the load transfer of the SASH component: 28 KATZBECK-MANUAL

1. Grab the shaft all the way at the top and pull out from the bottom 2. Insert load transfer of the sash into the mortise of the fittings and screw together 3. Insert the shaft in the correct position and slide up until a “click” is audible 4. Clip on the hex of the shaft into the mounting aid Important note: Should a sash featuring load transfer b e unhinged and remounted it is imperative to install a new mounting aid (black plastic clip), as it will otherwise be nearly impossible to get both the corner bearing pin and the load transfer unit into the respective points. Therefore, we ship 2 pcs. of reserve mounting aids with each element, which are fastened to the front of the respective window frame in a plastic bag. (when there are several elements per order, all of the clips can be found in ONE plastic bag fastened to one frame of the order) Assembly of FRAME Component of Load Transfer: 1. Screw the corner bearing to the horizon tal base plate. 2. Set the bearing above the vertical part of the base plate. 3. Fasten the bearing and the corner bearing together via the special 4.5x38 mm screw included in the shipment. IMPORTANT NOTE: Using an ARRESTER IS MANDATORY when using load transfers in wood and wood aluminium frames! Mounting a sash featuring integrates load transfer: 1. Close corner bearing 1. Fit sash slightly tilted (1) and parallel to the frame (2) on to both corner bearing pins (3). The hex of the shaft fixed via the mounting aid has to be set on the bearing (4). Check the proper positioning of the hex head in the bearing socket. 2. Open sash approx. 90° (center fixation of the load transfer will be torn) and connect the scissor stay of the arrester with the bearing of the floating scissor mullion. KATZBECK-MANUAL 29
